    Account Manager

    Working within the Installation Products within Electrification Business in Chicago, IL + NW Indiana, the Account Manager develops, implements and updates the account strategy from the customer’s perspective. In this role, you will be developing, implementing and managing the account strategy focused on growth, profitability and customer satisfaction. Coordinate the sales activities and manage resolution of specific customer problems. Demand creation at Channel, converting new business and support every day business in market. This is a remote role that will involve around 40-60% travel in the greater Chicagoland area on a regular basis.

    Your responsibilities

    • Participates in the development of sales strategies for accounts by providing insight into the business of existing and potential customers long-term growth plans for end-users in the market
    • Defines and proposes sales targets and growth margins for the account and ensures their achievement with a structured follow up process. Special attention to our premier product portfolio
    • Leads the development and implementation of the account plan to include designing the executive relationship strategy and coverage plans, prioritizing the opportunities, identifying a target for each solution element. Proposes recovery plans in case of potential order shortfalls
    • Establishes and develops account relationships based on a defined strategy. Acts as focal point for problem resolution and monitors customer claims. Plans, facilitates and conducts customer negotiations. Working at all times with priority focus on growing Gross Sales Margin as well as top line growth of Premier portfolio
    • Develops, maintains and shares detailed knowledge of the customer’s business strategy, purchasing behavior, organization, decision-makers, customer business drivers, economic trends and competition
    • Sells products, solutions, services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned Business Unit
    • Monitors competitors’ activity with each account and ensures that appropriate response strategies are formulated and implemented
    • Creates added value for the customer and ABB by ensuring a coordinated sales approach (e.g. frame agreements). Communicates details in accordance with ABB supply, offering and strategy

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Industrial Distribution or similar applicable background (Preferred); Advanced degree a plus
    • Equivalent working experience in lieu of degree also acceptable
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience (electrical experience a plus)
    • Exceptional analytical, sales, communication and leadership skills. SFDC (salesforce.com) skills are a plus
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
