    Associate Project Engineer - Systems

    Working as an Associate Systems Engineer, you will be the authority/support person for various engineering projects in Energy Service, Process Automation Energy Industries (PAEN) in Cleveland, Ohio, providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals. You will be responsible for supporting loading and configuring distributed controls systems in our Process Automation, Energy Industries team. This position will include all aspects of system implementation of a project including loading systems, configuring networks and preparing systems for shipment.

    Your responsibilities

    • Support ongoing DCS (Distributed control system​) system strategies for loading standards for Symphony and 800xA product lines
    • Support engineers and project teams within PAEN region with project design reviews (Computer Specifications, Network Architecture) and direct contract support
    • Assist with performing installations of hardware and software in several environments including Windows based servers with an emphasis on Windows 2019 server
    • Assist with configuring system networks comprised of servers, workstations, communication devices and peripheral equipment
    • Support physical and electronic setup and alteration of computers and system networks to meet customer and contract specifications
    • Assist proposals teams for estimating hours and equipment
    • Support and drive quality efforts in project execution
    • Assist with on site commissioning support

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field preferred and minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
    • Knowledge and/or experience administrating Information Systems and Virtual environments preferred
    • Strong technical knowledge of Windows configuration and administration, operating system fundamentals and network components and infrastructure including networking hardware and basic networking theory is preferred
    • Expertise in virtualization, routing and firewalls preferred
    • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and work with diverse discipline project teams
    • Ability to learn new methods and technologies with attention to detail
    • Ability and willingness to travel approximately up to 25% of the time
    • Position will be based in Cleveland, OH
    • Reimbursement for relocation is not available
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
