Associate Project Manager

Working in the Outdoor Products (ODP), Electrification Distribution Solutions (ELDS) in Lake Mary, Florida, you will be Leading the execution of small projects, ensuring that they are executed in line with procedures, specifications, standards requirements and targets. In this role you will drive the formal acceptance of the project by the customer, maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project.

Your responsibilities

• Primary customer contact for day to day operational aspects of project scope
• Effectively communicate and negotiate change orders for margin enhancement
• Manage and analyze project profitability, revenue, margin bill rates and utilization
• Coordinate/perform the order processing (from SPINE to SAP) and also into SAP Torque
• Ensures a clear understanding of the project contractual requirements by the project team
• Identify and suggest improvements to process and procedure
• Provide and track monthly forecast (financials)
• Using ABB value pairs increase overall organization effectiveness
• Lead the contract review of new projects and get the definition of the scope previously to the project initiation
• Be the point of contact between the customers in the USA and the factories located abroad
• Resolve invoice disputes by working with the respective functions, including the customer
• Create and execute project work plans to meet changing client needs and requirements at various customer work sites
• Coordinate directly with scheduling, operations, quality, and shipping to ensure that the orders are completed and shipped on time
• Develop a Microsoft project schedule to track the execution of the projects with multiple milestones and complex execution
• Monitoring several small projects with a value of around 15MUSD yearly, including products that are obsolete or out of the market
• Ensure the project follows the best practices and company policies to lead to a successful close out and on time delivery
• Coordinates with Supply Chain Management to procure required services or materials and support them in negotiations if applicable
• Acts as key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues. Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively. Communicates with all stakeholders
• Tracking and reporting project planning activities
• Coordinate with Supply Chain Management and successfully produce required services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers

Your background

• Associated degree and minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or project management position OR
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering or project management position
• University degree preferably in electrical/energy/mechanical engineering with experience in Electrical Distribution business is preferred
• Master’s degree in business administration and or electrical engineering preferred
• PMP certified
• Highly Analytical / Clear Thinker with Proven Project Management skills, including creative issue resolution.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to effectively manage a matrix team / organization
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and sense of urgency in dealing with tasks
• Ability to interface and build strong relationships with customers and management at various levels
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in English
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
