    We are looking for a candidate for the position of Automation Engineer for the Marine & Ports department in the European Operations Centre in Ostrava. We offer you the opportunity to get involved in prestigious international projects in the field of maritime transport in cooperation with project teams in Finland, Norway, USA and other countries. You will be involved in automation solutions for large ocean-going ships as well as automation of advanced hybrid propulsion technologies in the dynamically growing Short Distance Shipping segment. Your tasks will include implementation of designed solutions and bringing them to life with end customers in attractive destinations. Be part of a team whose standard is a friendly working atmosphere, trust and mutual support. This is an Automation Engineer for Marine & Ports, reporting to the Team Leader.

    Your responsibilities

    • Design, specification and documentation of automation systems
    • Creation of functional descriptions and programming of software applications
    • Design of hardware for the implementation of automation systems
    • Performing acceptance tests (FAT)
    • Commissioning of equipment at the customer's site
    • Active work within the entire project team
    • Creating technical documentation in accordance with ABB and end customer requirements
    • Commissioning equipment at customer sites in attractive destinations

    Your background

    • A desire to be involved in the development, design and implementation of automation systems for environmentally friendly technologies in the maritime industry
    • High school/university degree in electrical engineering
    • Communication level of English (B1 level and above)
    • You want to work in an international team
    • You are proactive, communicative and can work independently
    • Flexibility when travelling abroad on business
    • Experience in the field of automation / electrical (PLC, drives, control systems, design) is an advantage
