    Azipod Technician

    As an Azipod® Technician at ABB Oy, Marine & Ports Division, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining ABB Azipod® electric propulsion units. You will ensure that service work will be executed efficiently, cost effectively, according to technical work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. Your office will be located in Turku, but the work will mostly be done abroad at customers’ sites. We offer you an excellent opportunity to contribute to developing the ABB marine business and to develop into an expert in our products and systems. Possible future career path may include roles such as Site Manager, Technical Specialist or Project Manager.     Your responsibilities

    • Service of ABB Marine Azipod® propulsion units, where your focus will be on bearings.
    • Service and warranty calls on operating vessels.
    • Supporting in the projects’ continuous development and participating in review meetings.
    • Specifying and recommending solutions based on business and customer needs.
    • Sharing relevant information with subcontractors and colleagues and giving feedback to the organization to benefit from lessons learned.
    • Using and improving tools that are needed to execute a project efficiently.

    Your background

    • A technician or B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering.
    • Practical work experience related to relevant products and systems is an advantage.
    • Willingness to extensive global travelling, up to 150 days per year.
    • Experience in shipbuilding and knowledge of ABB products are advantages.
    • You have a co-operative and solution-oriented attitude.
    • Fluent written and spoken English skills. Other language skills, such as Finnish, are an advantage.
    • You are familiar with MS Office software.
    • You work well both independently and as a part of a team. Interaction with both the customer and the ABB team is an important part of this job.
