Electrification Products Smart Building “ELSB” Global Product Group Building and Home Automation Solution “BHAS” The Global Product Group (GPG) Building and Home Automation Solution (BHAS) represents one of ABB's strategic, international growth segments and is responsible for the development and sale of innovative, intelligent and integrated automation solutions for today's smart buildings. BHAS Global Competence Center (GCC): As part of the GPG's growth initiative, a global support team of dedicated and multidisciplinary support specialists has been established. The team’s task is to support ABB’s global and local sales teams during the entire technical business process from initial customer contact (technical pre-sales) thru project execution to after-sales service, ultimately meeting and exceeding the customer's expectations and thus increasing our joint business success. This includes, but is not limited to, technical product support, solution engineering, product application development and training. The Application Engineering Team We are looking for motivated and qualified personnel displaying a hands-on approach to establish and build-up the BHAS support activities across the various GPG locations. As team member you must balance the operative support demands of the markets and sales teams with the systematic development of building automation competency within our own ABB organisation and partners globally. You will have the opportunity to work in an international environment as part of a global support team in an interesting, technically challenging, and fast-moving segment, playing a part in the technical realisation of some of the most prestigious building projects going on in the world today. As a member of the GCC Application Engineering Team, you will be actively involved in the following tasks: - Based on the GPG business strategy and market requirements, the BHAS GCC team will specify, develop and implement a portfolio of support services, standardised engineering and application solutions, and tools to globally support, the local sales and product marketing teams (LSU), to generate and sustain profitable business growth - You will assist with the immediate, operative sales growth activities of the GPG by increasing the robustness, usability and quality of the GPG portfolio for real-life applications - You will empower the LSU's to technically promote and support the entire GPG BHAS portfolio, offering a more solution orientated support thus saving design and integration time at the customer and reducing technical risks within projects.

Your responsibilities

• Remote support of the local sales support teams, and as required, including on-site assistance.
• Registration, verification and evaluation of technical issues and development of possible solutions in cooperation with quality management, product management and R&D. Coordination and processing of warranty cases and claims for damages in coordination with the responsible LSU's and the responsible quality management and factory units.
• Continuous market observation regarding technical application trends, competitor developments and customer use-cases and solution requirements. Collation, evaluation and transfer of this information to the product management to strengthen product conception. Collaboration in the creation of product and solution specifications in cooperation with product management and R&D.
• Ensuring the interoperability, robustness, manageability and reliability of products and systems before market launch. This encompasses usability testing during the development phases as well as "real world" application tests, documentation thereof and reporting the results to the quality management for product compliance purposes. As required the coordination of externally involved test resources.
• Providing project planning and calculation assistance. Creation of customer / use-case specific applications and testing thereof, including documentation and publication, as well as online self-learning materials (videos). Creation of support content, e.g., FAQ's and engineering guides with the latest product and application knowledge. Technical sales support at events and trade fairs.

Your background

• Responsible in providing effective and efficient support of the ABB IoT intelligent portfolio for emergency lighting applications and serving as a key technical resource for Emergency Lighting IoT technology.
• Preparation of emergency lighting designs in accordance with the relevant industry standards to assist local & international sales organizations in driving IoT technical solutions across the offering line.
• Support new product introduction and quality processes for ABB IoT product and communicate customer feedback to Product Management and R&D to make any appropriate changes in product design to meet market expectation.
• Electrical Engineering degree, Electrical Technicia
• English – Fluent (spoken/written),other languages of advantage
• More than 3 years relevant experience in technical support or solution engineering
• Branch experience in electrical building infrastructures / industrial automation / building automation
• Background knowledge in BMS, HVAC, KNX, security, energy management. emergency lighting solutions
• Strategic and systematic approach
• International exposure to multi-national cultures & ‘ways of doing business’
• Ability to deal with 'contradictory’ & controversial situations, diplomacy
• Service and problem-solving orientation
• Readiness to travel
