    Building Solutions Specialist

    The Building Solutions Generation team supports customers by covering the entire portfolio of building electrification and automation products and services to maximize the value proposition of solutions. This role will have a primary focus on the hotel/hospitality industry. The Building Solutions Generation Specialist is responsible for designing the essential base blocks that technically make up a solution, producing (in conjunction with the division specialists) modular and flexible architectures that meet the business requirements of a specific sub-segment. This role will have an in-depth knowledge of solutions, technology, and applicable standards, in residential buildings and non-residential buildings like public buildings, commercial buildings, or industrial buildings. The solution-oriented approach to account management applies to industries with a significant potential to address a wider ABB portfolio from multiple businesses through closer alignment The role will report to the Global Building Solutions Generations Manager. Remote work is a possibility in this role, with preference given to individuals in the Eastern and Central time zones.

    Your responsibilities

    • Design solutions that are optimized, modularized, and reusable and ensure the design is flexible and extensible.
    • Consistently identify customer value and translate it into solutions proposition.
    • Prepare solution contents, literature, and publications, to support the adoption of the solutions at all different levels
    • Guide on effectively using solutions and architectures to achieve business targets.
    • Help design the solution training strategy and educational material for the assigned portion of the portfolio and follows-up
    • the execution carried out by the assigned training specialists.
    • Provide input and participate in discussions regarding technology contents for current and future portfolios.
    • Manage the lifecycle of a portion of the Building Solutions portfolio, responsible for maintaining and updating the offering,
    • technologically and services wise
    • Support the handover process to the field resources with deep solutions advice. Supports filed pilots and beta-versions
    • tests, constantly monitoring the quality level, customer acceptance, and compliances. Provide advice to colleagues and
    • customers on advanced solutions topics.
    • Heavy travel, both domestic and international, may be required for the role.

    Your background

    • Experienced and talented professional with a bachelor’s degree (MBA level an advantage) in Engineering (preferably a focus on control and automation, electronics, or energy) or ICT (Software/ IoT, Cloud) and/or design of new digital biz models.
    • At least 3 years of experience in the Building Solutions industry, preferably in the role of designing and implementing solutions for segment applications.
    • Solutions sales experience considered a plus, as well as technical accounting or technical business development.
    • Previous experience in the hotel/hospitality industry is strongly preferred.
    • Proven ability to translate customer requirements into actionable solutions for building automated control system, building automation technologies, and building energy efficiency and management systems.
    • Relevant and demonstrable experience with the ultimate building technologies, building and home automation (lighting, shading, DES, ACCESS
    • control, Security, HVAC, SCADA, AI), self-learning control systems for ambient intelligence (model-based controls.
    • Experience in digital business models (XaaS, subscription, free-and-sharing- access-over-ownership, ecosystem, on-demand, freemium) and digital platforms.
    • Knowledge in solutions with cutting edge architectures for automated power distribution (MV and LV systems, renewables, battery BESS, sub-distribution, energy management platforms) for building applications.
    • Proficiency with solution technologies in a secure network and cloud environment (IT, KNX, DALI, MODBUS, BACNET, IEC 61850, ABBAbility,
    • C2C).
    • Experience with Software and Hardware partnering, as well as solutions testing.
    • Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate the complexities of Building Solutions.
    • Fluency in Spanish, French, or other languages a strong plus.
