    Business Development Manager (Mining QLD) - Drives

    In this role, you will be responsible for sales of Variable Speed Drives within the Queensland region. You should be passionate about building long-term customer relationships and managing customer needs to resolve issues and support the positive development of their business and partnership with ABB. Reporting to Sales Manager, you will have a strong track record of identifying and successfully acquiring sales opportunities, and a growth mindset focused on increasing market share through the conversion of our competitor customer base.

    Your responsibilities

    • Selling drives as products and systems to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets, and identifying new ways to drive grow
    • Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships, understanding needs and promoting products and solutions
    • Preparing and maintaining your annual sales strategy for the QLD Drives market focused on retention and growth of our market focusing on the Mining industry segment
    • Creating added value for your customers and ABB to ensure the successful outcome of transactions, contracts, and proposals
    • Supporting the various ABB channels to market (OEMs, Distributors, System Integrators, Panel Builders) in delivering proposals and steering multi-tender bids for projects
    • Updating and maintenance of Salesforce CRM platform to enable the overseeing of sales performance and identifying trends, ensuring the appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions retain validity
    • Ensuring our employees are always kept safe, this includes: the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment where necessary; safety and environment training; reporting injury, incidents, hazards and near miss events

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering or similar is preferred
    • Product knowledge and understanding of drives technology to support customers
    • Previous experience in Business Development Management and Sales
    • Knowledge of the Mining customer base and applications
    • Ideally experience in Sales Force will be highly regarded
    • Understanding of QLD Mining customer base
    • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills
