    Business development Specialist

    You will be working as Business Development Specialist and will be part of Electrification Business Area for Distribution Solutions Division based in Vadodara, India. In this role you will be reporting to Project Operations Manager and will be responsible for planning and implementing proactive promotional activities for the assigned target audience (consultants, design institutes, engineering/architect offices, authorities etc.) in order to create the market demand and need for the features/products. Building long term customer relationships and identifying and developing sales opportunities by introducing, presenting and educating the target audience about ABB products and tools

    Your responsibilities

    • Identifying potential clients in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospective client’s business and equipment needs
    • Talking to sales colleagues, and visiting customers, and solve their pain point with ABB Electrification digital products and solution offerings
    • Specializing in for those equipment or solutions as per latest features, applicable standards
    • Protecting the specification and to create level playing field, developing relationships with prospective, while maintaining existing client relationships
    • Partnering with sales teams in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and you take the leadership to work with digital substation Product and Systems business team to translate the need to a digital solution
    • Going around the market and see what is going on out there especially for the digital development in the Electrification industry and observing, thinking, analyzing, communicating and influencing digital systems and products of distribution solution digital strategy
    • Anticipating and influencing current and future technologies and trends. Representing ABB as a cyber security expert in customer discussions

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical / electrical & electronics or similar
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Business development
    • Understanding and correctly interpreting customer specifications, single line diagrams, communication integration block diagrams
    • Understanding IEC 61850 requirements and having a strong understanding of application such as power management and control solution, transfer system, digital substation products and solution
    • Communication skills & critical thinking with skill to close the project independently and to customer satisfaction
    • Dynamic/Willing to travel (> 70%) and willingness to travel across the cluster to meet customer in relatively short notice
