You will be accountable for sales of PAPI Growth Industries Solutions, Process Automation Process Industries (PAPI), driving sales volumes and margins. You will be responsible to lead the North American (NAM) sales efforts for the Upstream Battery process, Assembly area and Battery https://Recycling.This role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with sales, the Growth Industries leadership team, marketing and product management as well as Battery customers both at the corporate level and at individual battery plants.

Your responsibilities
- Deliver on results in meeting Sales Volume and Margin targets for the North America for the Battery product portfolio
- Understand the scope of each ABB battery portfolio solution or product and match solutions with customers needs. Be able to articulate the value that is delivered by each solution
- Coordinate and make presentations and product demonstrations to customers. Presentations may cover technical, operational benefits, product features, economic justification, product differentiation, etc
- Collaborate with Battery Operations on proposals and bid specification responses for pursuits and review proposals for accuracy and completeness
- Work with Sales management / Account managers to ensure Battery Solutions are being promoted at targeted accounts
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with client representatives responsible for making or influencing purchasing decisions. Lead corporate wide sales pursuits and campaigns. (At the corporate level, the Business Driver will coordinate and work closely with any assigned ABB Corporate Account Managers.)
- Provide assistance and input in meetings, product presentations and negotiations to support Account Manager lead pursuits
- Support NAM Industry Lead and management team in developing regional related growth strategies
- Work closely with Marketing to develop focused marketing campaigns for the Battery sales team
- Follow the Growth Industries group defined policies regarding sales pursuit related activities and processes:Required Reporting
- Salesforce (Opportunities, visit reports, contacts)
- North American Business Lines forecasts (maintained and reported monthly)
- Request for Proposals
- Proposal Approvals
- Order logging
- Risk reviews
- Safe Driving and All Company and Customer Safety Procedures
- Required training safety and integrity training
Your background
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field required or equivalent extensive technical work experience in the Battery or similar Industry
- 5 or more, with 10 preferred, years of experience in sales or business development related to digital /automation solutions and products in a Process Industry Experience working in a position serving the Battery industry is preferred
- Experience in business development, capital equipment sales or service sales
- Excellent customer contact, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate well with multiple stakeholders regionally and globally
- A focus on end users, their wants and needs, their goals and objectives, how they buy, how they maintain their equipment, how they partner with suppliers
- Ability to develop and implement Battery proposals and strategies that lead to significant service growth
- Intense competitor knowledge; Passion for selling and winning
- Knowledgeable in the use of PC and related software including Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge and use of Salesforce
- A good understanding of the Battery market and general battery processes as well as the business challenges that our Battery customers need to address
- Ability to leverage existing relationships in the Battery industry to bring new selling opportunities to ABB
- Previous experience in a sales or business development position with demonstrated success in business growth
- Good time/activity/priority management skills
- Team leadership skills to lead a small team
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to travel 50% to 60% of the time
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
