    Your responsibilities

    • Leverage the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process, by implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with the overall MONM (Motion NEMA Motors) business strategy. Strategies should be ensuring that the supplier base/suppliers have the capability and capacity for meeting current and future business requirements
    • Contributing and participating in setting and implementing the budget and targets and ensuring the category sourcing performance targets are achieved
    • Develop, negotiate, and administer contracts for key suppliers
    • Manage the supplier base in accordance with company policies (cost, reliability, quality) and provide regular performance feedback to suppliers, and drive corrective actions as required
    • Resolve nonconformance issues, back charges and claims in a timely manner to minimize the company's exposure. Identify areas of risk within supply chain, implement appropriate mitigation measures
    • Work with teams and users to ensure internal customer needs are met and operate on a daily basis to meet reliability objectives for customer supply
    • Seeks opportunities to expand diverse supplier spend. Lead Continuous Improvement events with suppliers and in conjunction with the operations team to maximize value across the supply chain, improving total cost of ownership while driving a cultural of continuous improvement
    • Managing, planning, and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending and savings forecasts
    • Manage cost and assets (cost, productivity, inventory)
    • Maintain knowledge of market and industry trends within area of expertise and communicate potential impact on business, including price trends, and future markets to identify opportunities resulting from market shifts and take advantage of such shifts
    • Act as central point of expertise and knowledge for users in assigned spend categories. Participate in the Global Category Manager’s community, promoting good practices and driving continuous improvement in the area of category management

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or technical field/Advanced degree is desirable with minimum 10 years' of related experience
    • Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills
    • APICS or ISM (Indirect Spend Management Tool) certification strongly desired
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Familiarity with contract law, commercial terms, and standard procurement procedures
    • Requires ability to rapidly respond to unforeseen developments and initiate actions to reduce adverse impact
    • Interfacing with other groups, leading a project team, enforcing contract stipulations, negotiating prices and terms, require strong communications skills
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
