    To strengthen our Experts Services Team, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer (m/f) to act as an interface between our customers and ABB with the exciting task of performing worldwide commissioning and troubleshooting of medium voltage wind and renewable converters. Reporting to the Head of Expert Services Team, you will be part of the ABB Service Responsible Unit for MV drives in Turgi, Switzerland. You will be working in close collaboration with production, engineering, R&D, quality team, and support teams. In your role, you will ensure flawless delivery of services at our customer locations worldwide and provide feedback to the back office for continuous improvement of ABB’s products and processes. In your role, you will gain technical knowledge and customer experiences that will lay a great foundation for career development.

    Your responsibilities

    • Perform prototype-, pilot- and serial commissioning and troubleshooting for medium voltage wind converters mainly in Europe (On- and offshore)
    • Assisting in continuous improvement of project and product design, participating in project review meetings, and providing input on commissioning activities
    • Creating work plans and cost estimates for work, conducting risk and opportunity assessments during commissioning, reporting potential risks and their resolutions
    • Participate in remote support activities to support ABB and customer service teams
    • Collect firsthand customer experience with our medium voltage wind and renewable converters and transfer them into improvements to ensure further development of our products together with Engineering, R&D, Quality and Production Teams
    • Consult with and advising customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines
    • Assume international traveling of approx. 50–70%, duration of each assignment typically up to 4 weeks

    Your background

    • Ability to translate customer needs into continuous improvements and drive them until completion
    • Customer and solution-oriented with the ability to approach technical challenges in a structured manner
    • Team player with pronounced communication skills and intercultural sensitivity
    • High flexibility and willingness to work independently
    • Master or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related fields focused on power electronics and/or drive control is a plus
    • Knowledge about electrical machines: transformers, drives, and motors is a must
    • Knowledge about simulation systems (e.g. Matlab/Simulink, DSpace) is an asset.
    • Fluent in English, German language is beneficial, any other language an asset
