    You will be working as Compensation & Performance Manager and will be the part of Motion business area for BA Function Human Resources division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to AMEA HUB Lead Compensation & Performance and will be responsible for working as part of team(s) of Human Resources (HR) specialists/managers to deliver the strategy for a specific HR functional area in Africa, in alignment with group directives and wider HR strategy. Representing the needs of the area to the global performance and reward function and collaborating with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and HR operational services to provide a seamless service to the business

    Your responsibilities

    • Executing and contributing to strategy within functional and geographic area of responsibility, in alignment with group guidance, policies, and procedures, acting as speaking partner to the business to advice on strategy, process and policy and best practice approach in relation to compensation and performance
    • Managing and directing compensation programs in countries of responsibility and ensuring that initiatives and strategies align with the company's compensation philosophy and objectives, managing the legislative impact of reward policies and practices
    • Determining the effectiveness of programs, initiatives and strategies and their ability to attract and retain top talent, implementing and continuously optimizing total rewards processes and procedures within area of functional responsibility in alignment with ABB guidance, policy, and procedures
    • Partners with HRBPs and business leaders to understand current issues that can be supported or resolved through existing, new, and/or improved HR practices, processes, or policies in area of functional specialty
    • Counselling HR and business leadership on effective solutions to resolve issues and supporting long-term objectives, monitoring total rewards market trends in the countries of responsibility, in order to recommend consistent solutions
    • Developing and implementing country/region-specific programs in area of functional specialty, in consultation with global expert services, sharing practices with other geographic areas for their use as appropriate
    • Acting as key point of contact for the group expert services, actively contributing to, supporting and leading where appropriate, group expert services design projects and pilots, giving feeds back to P&R function on experience of implementing group tools and processes in geographic area of responsibility and ensuring learnings are incorporated into future program/process design
    • Working with the operational HR team to optimize support for the relevant processes and monitoring service delivery in accordance with the pre-defined service level agreement (SLA), managing vendor relationships at country level, instructing service providers and monitoring quality and cost of delivery
    • Ensuring compliance with legislation and HR policies and compliance standards in area of functional responsibility, managing local exception requests to policy, within defined parameters and escalating as necessary
    • Formulating financial plans and budget estimates for the C&P function area in the region/cluster, managing adherence to agreed plans and budgets

    Your background

    • Fully qualified HR professional / University degree, with a significant number of years
    • of experience in HR / Compensation
    • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in Analytical skills , attention to details and strong market knowledge
    • Experience working in a global organization is preferred, with demonstrated cultural sensitivity and experience dealing with multiple countries
    • Expert in compensation programs and their administration and the broader HR strategy, anticipating customer needs and identifying solutions
    • Fluency in English language is mandatory
