ABB is seeking a Director of Business Development, US Government to develop and execute a strategy for growing our sales to US Government entities. You will be the “Go-to” person for finding and qualifying compliant business development opportunities that lead to sales of ABB E-mobility EV chargers to US Government entities. You’ll also investigate and educate internal teams on US Government product and commercial requirements needed to sell into the US Government markets.

    Your responsibilities

    • Develop and execute ABB E-mobility’s strategy for establishing and growing sales of EV chargers to US Federal Government entities
    • Network, cultivate and develop strategic partner relationships with the US Government entities, end users, major integrators, distributors, general/electrical/mechanical contractors, energy performance contractors and channel partners
    • Create, promote, and deliver business development sales plans and recommend capture and partnering strategies for federally funded opportunities for EV chargers and related services that compliment ABB E-mobility’s offerings
    • Work collaboratively with regional sales and channel sales teams on bid strategies and how to pursue and win US government procurements
    • Advise and educate US Government entities about vehicle electrification and EV charging
    • Monitor and track EV charging requests for information, requests for proposals, and procurement programs for EV charging

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree is required with 7-10 years of experience working with US Government procurements, program design, and opportunity development as a government employee or private sector employee
    • Previous US Government business development or sales experience required with ability to identify, negotiate, capture, and grow new business and opportunities
    • In lieu of having a degree, will consider 12 or more years direct experience selling to and supporting Government procurements
    • Must have demonstrated knowledge of the US Government contracting and procurement landscape and process
    • Experience working with US Government transportation, fleet, or energy programs and procurements is a plus
    • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and government contracting guidelines
    • Experience with CRM tools, e.g., Salesforce, is required to manage sales/lead pipeline
    • Excellent, proven verbal and written communication
    • Excellent, proven presentation experience
    • Excellent, proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders
    • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively
    • Self-starter with entrepreneurial approach
    • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, as needed
    • Salary range: 160-190K, 35% bonus
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
