We are looking for a Control System Designer for excitation panels to synchronous motors and generators to Machines in Västerås. If you are eager to utilize your knowledge in electrical system, electrical machines and broaden your knowledge in control and protection of the machines, this is the job for you!

    Your responsibilities

    • Design control panels, both hardware and software for excitation systems for synchronous motors and generators.
    • Support sales in technical questions related to the excitation panels.
    • Contact with supplier in technical questions.
    • Setting of motor and generators protection in the control system.
    • Together with test room personnel evaluating and verifying control functions.
    • In cooperation with Commissioning Engineer solving site issues.
    • Participating in customer meetings.

    Your background

    • You hold a Master of Science in Engineering with a major in Electrical Machines or Power Systems alternatively some years of experience of power system or control panels design.
    • You can be newly graduated or have a couple of years´ experience from a similar role.
    • We see it as a merit if you previously used or have worked with CAD-tools for electrical schematics.
    • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken alike are a requirement.
    • On a personal level you are open minded and always strive to understand customer requirements and to find the best possible solution, based on our unique concepts.
    • You distinguish yourself with an analytical mind and an ability to make sound decisions regarding technical solutions.
    • Since you also will work closely with our sales team you need strong interpersonal skills and a helpful and service-minded attitude.

    The Large Motors and Generators Division offers a comprehensive product portfolio of large AC motors and generators. From general purpose to highly customized designs, synchronous motors and high voltage induction motors provide high efficiency, reliability and availability across all major industries and applications, including some in the toughest and most demanding environments. The division also has a long track record of designing and building generators for wide range of industries, including power generation, marine, oil and gas, mining, and data centers. At factory in Västerås we design and manufacture highly customized syncronous machines as well as design and deliver excitation systems for the same machines for delivery all over the globe.
