Draughting Specialist

You will be working as Drafting Specialist and will be the part of Motion business area for Service division based in Alberton, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Engineering Manager I and will be responsible to prepares engineering drawings of medium and high complexity using CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems and provides technical assistance to other colleagues in the team

Your responsibilities

• Assists in creating proposals for projects through coordination of proposal documents and engineering estimates, assists in performing engineering risk analysis before submitting proposal
• Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform tasks or sequence of tasks
• Executes assignments using established solutions, prepares engineering drawings using CAD systems, act as a design authority and complete mechanical engineering assignments
• Collaborates on project implementation, manufacturing and site activities and clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors
• Follows the work schedule for mechanical engineering, documentation and drafting, delivers on agreed timeline, cost estimate and set quality standards, provides relevant information pertaining to mechanical engineering and drafting assignment to the engineering team
• Provides coaching and guidance to less experienced colleagues, utilizes standard processes, tools and techniques, ensures that mechanical engineering and drafting activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements
• Ensures accurate application and implementation of standard processes and tools in preparing accurate drawings

Your background

• Mechanical Engineering Diploma NQF Level 5 (Minimum)
• Basic Tertiary Qualification with 5+ years of experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in electric motors with successful completion of mechanical designing and drafting scope
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
