ABB's Distribution Solutions Division provides utility, industrial and commercial customers with safe, smart and sustainable technologies for the distribution of electricity. The role reports to the Operations Manager and is located in Tucson, Arizona. As a Electrical Mechanic A, essential responsibilities are to service electric motors and/or wheel motors related equipment in accordance with repair specifications.

Your responsibilities

• Disassembly, cleaning, repair, inspection, reassembly, and test of electric motors.
• Complete inspection and test reports for electric motors
• Complete mechanical assessment of electric motors or wheel motors
• Assess replace or repair gears, shafts and seals
• Familiar with the scope and limitations of the repair procedures for motors

Your background

• Trade School or high school diploma/GED and 5 years minimum experience in manufacturing or equipment service industry
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings or mechanical prints
• Able to use calibrated equipment
• May be required to work overtime, various shifts, holidays and weekends
• Travel to job Sites. Work may be up to 50% onsite
• Respond upon short notice to answer breakdowns at remote locations must be expected/anticipated
• Possesses the fundamental understanding of a Safety and Quality based culture and performs accordingly
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
