    An opportunity is available for a new role as an Energy Transition Market Sub-Segment(s) Sales Lead within ABB’s Process Automation Energy Industries UK & IE business. The role will be home-based covering all of the UK & Ireland and reporting to the UK & Ireland Head of Sales.

    Your responsibilities

    • Create / identify, define the strategy for and lead large pursuits (typically Automation, Electrical, Telecommunications, Digital) within ABB’s Process Automation Energy Indus-tries (PAEN) UK & IE business, in Energy Transition Market Sub-Segments.
    • Pursuits may be within one or more of the following Market Sub-Segments : Hydrogen, CCUS, Nuclear SMR, Offshore Electrification, Energy from Waste, Waste to Fuels, Waste to Chemicals, Sustainable Aviation Fuel, District Heating, Battery Energy Storage, Microgrids, EV Charging Infrastructure.
    • Understand the project portfolio in the Market Sub-Segment(s) within your area of re-sponsibility, to aid development and implementation of the strategy, creation / identifi-cation of opportunities and suitable focussed prioritisation utilising the Opportunity Screening process.
    • Collaborate closely with the wider Process Automation Energy Industries team, including (depending on particular Market Sub-Segment(s) within your responsibility) the PAEN Norway team, working together to pursue individual opportunities.
    • Own the Market Sub-Segment monthly / quarterly / annual Orders and Orders GM fore-cast.
    • Work collaboratively with the other Sales Leads with responsibility for Energy Transition Market Sub-Segment(s) (where required) within the Industrial Clusters.
    • Position PAEN in the external marketplace as a leader in the Market Sub-Segment(s) un-der your responsibility, including attendance and presentation at external Events.
    • Personal responsibility to always follow ABB’s code of conduct; act with Integrity and ensure Health and Safety is never compromised
    • Proactive engagement and use of ABB’s CRM tool (Salesforce) on a regular basis.

    Your background

    • Degree qualified in a relevant technical discipline preferred.
    • Previous experience in selling Solutions across typically Automation, Electrical, Tele-communications, Digital disciplines preferred.
    • Prior working knowledge of UK Energy Transition market sub-segments preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
    • Good IT skills, particularly MS Office.
    • Driving licence.
    • Home based, but comfortable with spending some nights away from home.
    • Ability to use a CRM system such as Salesforce.
    • Competent in a consultative selling process, with good questioning and listening ability
    • Inquisitive, energetic and resilient
    • Self-motivated and driven to achieve targets
    • Ability to prioritise own work and meet deadlines
    • Good interpersonal skills, confident & can gain the trust of clients
    • Awareness of the commercial impact of technical decisions, and knowledgeable in con-tractual elements of industrial projects
    • Experience of interfacing with varying levels of authority within client organisations
