The ABB Measurement and Analytics plant in Québec is the world leader in spectroscopy. Our Contract Engineering Department is Canada's largest supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for greenhouse gas emissions monitoring and weather forecasting worldwide. Our plant is also known for its expertise in the development and manufacture of various products that make it possible to meet several industrial analysis needs on a daily basis. By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Québec, you will actively contribute to our customers’ projects, as well as to the research and development of our technology. You will be part of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team. You will be in charge of engineering contract projects within the Measurement and Analytics business unit in Québec (Canada). You will successfully execute projects of varying complexities with budgets between $200,000 and $5 million. Your clients and projects are varied, including the Canadian and European space agencies. Reporting to the project office, you will ensure the delivery of projects by rigorously orchestrating communications and monitoring of all stakeholders. Under your leadership, your team will be committed to developing, within the budgets, state-of-the-art products that meet strict quality criteria and comply with the demanding requirements of our clientele.

    Your responsibilities

    • Lead the project team with clear guidelines, tasks, and milestones, while motivating and providing feedback.
    • Manage all aspects of the project in accordance with the customer’s requirements and ensure that all technical, safety, quality, and financial objectives are met.
    • Oversee the development of the project plan documents with respect to scope, budget, schedule, and risk management.
    • Monitor each stage of the implementation of the project to ensure best practices in matters of cost control, efficient use of resources, risk management, as well as of health, safety and the environment.
    • Identify, analyze, and manage project risks, regularly sharing lessons learned.
    • Coordinate contract negotiation and equipment procurement in collaboration with the supply chain.
    • Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • At least 10 years of experience in project management (concrete achievements) with international experience.
    • PMP certification recommended.
    • English-French bilingualism essential.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects with converging delivery dates in a fast-paced environment.
    • Collaborative solution-oriented attitude and strong communication skills both spoken and written.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Business acumen, good understanding of customer needs, and ability to maintain good customer relationships.
