    ERP Solution Architect - MM/WM

    This role involves responsibility for the design, integrity and quality of an IS (Information Systems​) solution and of associated IS services delivered to business and support functions as well as IS Technology domains. As a Solution Architect in the ABB SAP organization, you will have the opportunity to work in a high paced, international environment, solve complex problems, participate in building our SAP solution capability and grow together with the rapidly developing business. The SA (Solution Architect) would be responsible for the design, integrity and quality of an SAP solution for the SCM processes (including Materials Management, Inventory Management and Warehouse Management in SAP) and of associated IS services delivered to Business, Support Functions and IS Technology domains. Responsible that the SAP solution/service provides the required functionality and meets the cost expectations of business. Collaborates with and contributes to project set up and delivery as well as to service operations optimization.

    Your responsibilities

    • Architect: Defines the technical SAP solution for the SCM processes (including Materials Management, Inventory Management and Warehouse Management in SAP) and ensures alignment with other modules and surrounding IS applications through cooperation and collaboration across IS solution architects and IS delivery units. Engages in requirement engineering to decide which requirements are covered by available standard functionalities, for which functionalities enhancements are needed and for which functionalities workarounds are accepted. Supports validation and prioritization of incoming business demand in collaboration with the relevant IS Service Manager and/or Global IS Domain Architect. Review and sign off the functional and technical use case specifications
    • Best practice & Knowledge sharing: Keeps knowledge up to date regarding new and emerging SAP technology and IS industry practices, bringing learning into ABB; all within in the scope of the relevant IS solutions
    • IS Services: Collaborates with users in projects and problem management to maintain, develop and deploy the best feasible and most cost efficient SAP solutions/services for the SCM processes (including Materials Management, Inventory Management and Warehouse Management in SAP) . Ensures manuals for users are created to describe the operating procedures. Consults, gives advice and supports the installation of new SAP solutions/services or the changing of existing SAP solutions/services
    • Processes: Consults the users to identify and learn about current procedures and to clarify further requirements. Supports the installation, management, maintenance and optimization of all SAP processes related to the area of responsibility
    • Governance: Provides guidance to IS project management and IS delivery unit team in how to utilize IS application/solution standards (example SAP) effectively. Communicates project delivery related decision demand towards project and service management in collaboration with Global IS Domain Architect to ensure resolution and avoid delivery issues. Commits and contributes to common result oriented collaboration with the various business processes IS architectural domains as well as the various enterprise technology IS architecture domains. For assigned tasks, executes all actions in IS processes according to agreed RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) specification
    • Incident, Change or Project: Contributes to SAP Problem and SAP Incident Management to fight ticket volume by detecting
    • re-occurring defects and eliminating these. Proactively supports issue resolution during project delivery to avoid delays or any other form of negative impact to a project or service
    • IS Strategy: In concert with the Global IS Domain Architect ensures that IS solution/service related standards are considered accordingly
    • Stakeholder Management: Supplies the IS Service Manager(s) with relevant stakeholder information related to SAP solution/services
    • When required works together with relevant stakeholders (example business managers, IS Service Managers, other Domain IS Architects, IS Solution Architects, IS Sourcing and 3rd Party IS Suppliers) regarding their expectations, business and technical requirements and in accordance with GF-IS policies, IS procedures and IS guidelines
    • People Leadership and Development: Provides support to temporary work teams, guiding and monitoring task completion, sharing expert knowledge and advice with/without carrying line responsibility

    Your background

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, Business or related field and minimum 12 years of experience in SAP MM,WM area
    • Experience designing and leading transformational projects in a global company
    • Experience within ABB leading large complex business critical global or regional programs and projects
    • Experience developing funding proposals for potential projects, including formal business cases and executive presentations to summarize proposals
    • Strong knowledge in SAP MM/WM modules with at least two full life cycle implementations
    • Minimum 8 years SAP configuration experience in SAP MM/WM Modules: hands on experience for testing, design and configuration in MM/WM related processes is required
    • Practical knowledge of SAP MM/WM integration with other SAP Modules: Sales, Costing, Service, Production Planning, Finance and Project Systems
    • Extensive Knowledge in designing SAP solutions in the SAP MM and WM Modules, including: Master Data, BOM, Costing
    • Interchangeability and Substitution, Direct and Indirect procurement, Experience implementing EDI solutions with third party vendors for procurement activities, Release strategies, Subcontracting, Third party order processing, Material and Service Contracts
    • Consignment Purchases, Inter and Intra Stock Transfer orders, Scheduling Agreements, Valuation and Account determination
    • Goods Receipts, Goods Issue, Invoice verification, Stock Transfers, Transfer Postings, Material to Material Transfers, Physical inventory, Stock determination, Cycle Counting
    • Strong experience in SAP MM & WM implementation and resident Subject Matter Expert(SME) in MM and WM functional business process, SAP MM LE functional configuration and integration with SAP SD, FI/CO and PP modules, Experience with SAP WM solution including RF WM standard solution
    • Good organization, time management and decision making skills
    • Knowledge on application development processes, including thorough knowledge of SAP management concepts
    • Strong ability to communication effectively with local, global and cross divisional virtual teams
    • Exceptional team player and collaborator
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail / detail oriented
    • •Proficiency in Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Experience using Microsoft Project, Planview or similar project management tools
    • Fluent spoken and written English
    • Project related travel may be required during certain project phases; up to 30%
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
