EVSE Electrical Engineer – Product Engineering

Working as a Project Engineer, you will be the authority/support person for various engineering projects in Hardware R&D E-Mobility Hardware in Columbia, South Carolina, providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals.

Your responsibilities
- Lead and execute product engineering activities during the life cycle of products after their release for sales. Specifically: You hold a solid background in Electrical Engineering including electrical safety compliance, electrical/electronic circuit design/implementation/troubleshoot, and have capability to independently build-up validation setups for evaluating the functionality of electrical/electronic circuits
- You are familiar with electronic control implementation including the usage of DSP (Digital Signal Processor), FPGA controllers, and can work closely to firmware developers to achieve target specification for the electronics circuit of interest
- You will transfer all documentation and knowledge of newly developed products from the RnD team to the Product Engineering team. These include but not limited to electrical schematics, bill of material (BOM), working instruction, spare parts list, product manuals, etc.
- Create relevant documentation and maintain bill of material (BOM (Bill of material)) of EV (Electrical Vehicle) charger parts and/or systems, e.g., PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assembly), enclosures, thermal management related items
- Work closely with local manufacturing engineers and colleagues of other functions/locations, to ensure manufacturability/quality/serviceability of the end products
- Customize global EV charger designs to comply with local regulations/customer requirements
- Engage external parties, as necessary, to make sure your work is done properly
- Leverage internal and/or external resources to complete tasks and reach milestones
- Additional/growing responsibility may include: Manage the cost, schedule and performance objectives of projects and its work packages within a global organization
- Manage interdependencies between cross-functional workstreams to realize specified deliverables and benefits
- Work closely with product manager, operation units, development teams, to provide the best solution to fulfill the business case and meet customer satisfaction in terms of response and delivery time, quality level and product performance
- Manage products variants and customization requests. Ensure all requirements are captured and acted upon by partnering with relevant business unit(s) and/or external resources
Your background
- A Master’s degree or similar with a solid technical background in electrical engineering with minimum 2 years working experiences
- Experiences as a design engineer, with electrical engineering or solid electronics and good understanding of electrical equipment designs
- Project management skills are a plus
- Product standard compliance/certification design experience is a plus
- Knowledge of thermal management, standardization is a plus
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Proactivity, teamwork skills, problem-solving and result orientation will complete your profile
