    Field Service Engineer

    You will be working as Field Service Engineer and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Bangalore, you will be deployed at Gujarat, India. In this role you will be reporting to Service Manager. You will be primarily responsible to perform onsite service of low to medium complex on 800xA automation system used as power management system / electrical control system, that covers day to day maintenance, preventive and breakdown maintenance.

    Your responsibilities

    • Ensuring the automation system is functional and performing at optimum level. Using system diagnostic and monitoring facilities for quick fault finding and problem resolution
    • Identifying and implementing additional diagnostic facility in the system as required. Identifying and implementing actions that increases system reliability and availability
    • Ensuring customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation. Creating and maintaining a good relationship with customers and understands their needs
    • Identifying new sales opportunities, supporting customer in defining requirements for system upkeep, including spare parts, software solutions, upgrading and optimization. Keeping updated on developments in technology and product and ensures high level of awareness on ABB solutions portfolio
    • Preparing and maintaining maintenance check list and activity list. Preparing documents and procedures for system maintenance, standard operating procedures, backup and recovery procedures
    • Identifying potential system failures through system tools and diagnostic information and takes corrective actions. Troubleshooting hardware and software problems with the help of his own experience, system documentation and through collaboration with other colleagues. Documenting learnings and best practices
    • Proactively identifying suggestions for product, quality and customer service improvement and discusses them with management for changes

    Your background

    • Diploma / BE / B.Tech from a reputed university with first class in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation engineering
    • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in DCS / automation for electrical control system (ECS) or power management system (PMS) or composite islanding & load management system (CILMS)
    • Experience in field service / commissioning experience in electrical control system in oil & gas or petrochemical or large industrial plants (metals, cement) is preferred
    • Experience in programming, testing and commissioning experience in ABB System 800xA DCS for a minimum of one year is mandatory. Experience in other ABB DCS will be an added advantage
    • Experience in Industrial communication protocols and applications including IEC61850, Modbus, GOOSE, IED, Electrical Relay integration, IEC103, load shedding, load sharing application, Substation/Electrical automation application & PCM600
    • This is a resident engineer position for a customer location in Gujarat
