    As Global EV Protocols Lead, you will be part of the System & Research Software Team. Software (SW) is an integral element of the products and services we develop at ABB E-mobility and is represented as a horizontal organization that creates SW and Platform capabilities for the Business Verticals as well as internal operations teams. The System and Research SW team is organized into key technical domains covering all the different areas relevant to a modern business where SW is an enabler – System Architecture, AI/ML, Cybersecurity, OS (Operating System), and UX (User eXperience). The mission of this team is to provide subject matter expertise to the entire E-Mobility division, but also specifically for the existing and new products/services.

    Your responsibilities

    • You are a key member of ABB System and Research SW team, working with the other team members to ensure we produce best-in-class, secure and modern SW systems
    • Leverage your expertise in the space of ISO15118, OCPP, V2G to guarantee we are at the bleeding edge of compliance and compatibility
    • Work with the different Engineering Teams (Embedded/Cloud) to ensure our protocols roadmap is competitive
    • Perform various offering life cycle activities supporting development, launch, maintenance
    • Develop High quality documentation, tools, prototypes and
    • Support or be involved actively in every new platform or product development
    • Keep a record of technical debt and work with the wider team to mitigate
    • Be on the bleeding edge of active external development and trends in the field

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Engineering, Masters is preferred,
    • You possess practical experience in modern embedded and cloud compute SW/HW platforms
    • Deep knowledge of ISO15118 and OCCP
    • Can dive into complex code and provide alternatives and guidelines to improve it
    • You are a team player working with other subject matter experts to improve the SW status quo
    • You can challenge and convince internal SW development teams on new solutions and ways to work
    • You are keen to research but have a drive towards putting research in touch with present products
    • Solution oriented and communicative style
    • Structured in communication and approach
    • Willingness to work with a globally distributed team
    • Hands-on mentality
    • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, clear verbal communicator in English, knowledge of Italian, Mandarin, Polish or Dutch are considered a plus.).
    • Feels comfortable in a fast moving, innovative & dynamic market, and technology environment
