    As Global Product Manager Communication Protocols and Interfaces, you play an important role in owning and manage the roadmap of the embedded charger software platform in area of internal and external communication protocols and interfaces. You will be part of The Embedded Software Platform Team. We are team of enthusiastic and versatile professionals. We are making sure that our charging platform stays cutting-edge technology wise and serve all customer’s needs and market trends. Engineers by heart we do not hesitate to talk directly to customers to better understand their needs, but on the same day you can find us next to developers diving deep into technical details.     Your responsibilities

    • Research and study eMobility and EV charging market to understand market requirements and trends in area of charging communication protocols.
    • Monitor relevant technology trends to incorporate input into charging communication protocols roadmap and offering.
    • Collect input from various stakeholders and sources and gather ideas for new functionality.
    • Collect and manage functional and non-functional requirements for embedded software platform communication protocols and interfaces.
    • Assess requirements and feedback from business line product management and customers such as Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and incorporate it into product requirements and roadmap.
    • Collaborate with your colleagues to make sure interfaces are interoperable with other part of charging eco-system such as cloud systems and other devices.
    • Align development of interfaces and protocols for chargers embedded software with software platform and digital services developments.
    • Collaborate on the technical design of a product’s features and interfaces with software R&D (e.g. prepare functional specification, define expected behavior).
    • Act as Scrum Product Owner for one or several teams developing communication protocols components. Including: Own the product backlog and ensure functionalities meet the stakeholders needs by writing user stories with clear acceptance criteria for the development and test team.,Specifying detailed requirements and working directly with the development team on implementation providing ad-hoc explanation and feedback and participating in design sessions if needed.
    • Provide input for documentation on product details and functionality for internal and external stakeholders.
    • On behalf of ABB actively participate as expert in international standardization and industry groups on topics relevant for your domain expertise. Organizations such: Open Charge Alliance (OCA),IEC/ISO,CharIN,IEEE,other

    Your background

    • Master degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent skill level.
    • Experience in a software environment with (technical) product management as a product owner or manager, alternatively as a business analyst or similar.
    • Experience in working in or with an agile/scrum based software development team.
    • Ability to collect inputs from various stakeholders and to translate feedback into technical specifications.
    • Understanding of software design principles especially in area of APIs and machine-to-machine (M2M) communication protocols.
    • Knowledge of following communication protocols and frameworks is strong plus: OCPP 1.6/2.0.1, ISO 15118
    • Knowledge of other industrial communication protocols and frameworks such as protocols used in SCADA systems, OPC UA and PLC protocols is a plus.
    • Knowledge of energy management protocols such as SEP 2.0/IEEE 2030.5 and Open ADR is a plus.
    • Experience of participating in industry standardization groups such as OCA, IEC/ISO, IEEE, CharIN is a plus.
    • Background as software engineer and/or software test engineer is highly desirable.
    • Affinity or proven experience with cloud-based systems is a plus.
    • Fluent English language speaking and writing and able to communicate effectively with a diverse audience across all levels of an organization.
    • Experience in direct contact with customers, suppliers, regulatory and standardization bodies in B2B environment in area of software is highly desirable.
    • Ability to travel globally up to 10-25%.
