Supporting the HUB America’s HSE Manager in implementing the ABB Way for HSE Management System and the PA Guiding Principles to deliver a high-performing culture through clear line management accountability and a competent organization. Based in the Westchase, Houston office you will also lead the management of facilities and services for PAEN’s sites in the Houston area.

    Your responsibilities

    • Risk Management: Facilitating HSE risk assessments by line management, ensuring all processes and corrective actions are implemented
    • Supports the legal compliance assurance process
    • Reviews and supports the implementation of Control Standards and Emergency Response preparedness
    • Metrics: Support the incident investigation process to ensure proper root cause, corrective actions, and preventative measures are taken
    • Ensure the process for filing necessary reports and documentation is followed. Train and develop operations leadership in effective incident investigation
    • Overseeing audits related to HSE activities Empowering the management team to grasp obligations and liability, local HSE law and ABB requirements, and how to drive behavioral change
    • Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement by implementing the Group HSE management system, training and improvement programs
    • Maintain HSE management systems including control of documents and records, operational control procedures, and continuous improvement
    • Support the HSE employee teams to improve overall HSE program and culture
    • Consultancy: Train and develop team leaders and ensure teams have proper resources and direction to drive results. Teams may include but are not limited to: Emergency Response, Ergonomics, Electrical Safety, Office Safety, and Environmental
    • Facilities: Manage or coordinate all facility related expenses and activities, such as repair and maintenance, facility services, utilities, technology and employee support for all ABB users of PAEN led facilities
    • Coordinate with other ABB Divisions and PAEN functions regarding the use of spaces and overall facilities sharing related issues

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, or a related area and a minimum of 2, with 5 preferred, years of HSE Management experience
    • Working experience with ISO 45001 compliant management systems, related certifications are a plus
    • Previous experience with management of electrical safety, facilities, and contractor safety programs preferred
    • Office based role, with field visits and some travel required. Work from home by exception only.
    • Accreditations as a Safety Professional valued
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
