    HSE Manager

    You will be working as HSC Manager and reporting to Manufacturing Unit Manager and will be part of Motion Business Area based in Vadodara.You will be responsible for leading a team of HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) advisors and specialists. Ensuring there is sufficient expertise to support line managers and employees in the implementation of policies, standards, programs, and practices in the assigned area of responsibility (e.g., business area, division, hub, site).

    Your responsibilities

    • Ensuring that the area of responsibility is appropriately organized, staffed, skilled and directed
    • Facilitating HSE risk assessment by line management of shop floor employees, i.e., those directly affected by hazards, and ensures all processes are implemented
    • Driving and learning across the entire organization for continuous improvement and metrics, and also reports HSE incidents
    • Providing feedback on lessons learned as well as best practices from both the person’s own unit and across ABB, to management and employees
    • Reporting on HSE performance and progress on the implementation of ABB Group sustainability objectives and KPIs (key performance indicators) for the ABB Group, as required
    • Serving as the primary HSE interface within the assigned area of responsibility and Ensuring that HSE capabilities are optimized and aligned to standards, processes, guidance, and best practices
    • Identifying, planning, and initiating the need for training, e.g., for employees, site managers, contractors and ensuring compliance with Group management systems
    • Engaging external stakeholders (eg, customers, suppliers) and internal stakeholders to report on, raise awareness of, gain commitment to and obtain objective feedback on ABB's HSE efforts and performance

    Your background

    • Possesses a recognized degree in a branch of Engineering or Technology with Practical experience of working in any factory in a supervisory capacity for a period of not less than 2 years
    • Diploma in any branch of Engineering or Technology or a recognized degree in Physics or Chemistry and has a practical experience of working in any factories in a supervisory capacity for a period of not less than 5 years
    • 10 to 15 years of experience in the relevant field.
    • Adequate knowledge of Gujarati Language is an added advantage
