    HSE Supervisor

    The HSE Supervisor is primarily responsible to lead the safety team and provide support to the HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Manager to instill a safety sensitive culture and ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and company policies within the Motion Business Area in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

    Your responsibilities

    • Conduct work-site analysis and safety audits to identify hazards and deviations from acceptable practices of requirements.
    • Oversees the Safety corrective action process while supervising and leading the safety team.
    • Support continued management of the ABB safety program and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and OHSA (Occupational Safety & Health Act​) programs
    • Investigate and report near miss injuries and non-injuries to the Safety Manager.
    • Keep management well-informed of current safety performance, potential hazards, serious incidents and changes to guidelines affecting safety policies and procedures.
    • Analyzes physician’s reports and conducts worker studies, as applicable, to determine if diseases or illnesses are job related. Monitor all injuries/illnesses and Workers Compensation Claims. Work with management team to facilitate employee return to work program.
    • Participate in new product/process reviews including process hazard analyses, training, etc.
    • Periodically audits practices and records of facility operations to ensure compliance with company programs and Federal/State/Country/occupational safety and health regulations.

    Your background

    • High School Diploma/GED with 9 years experience OR Associates Degree with 7 years’ experience OR Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years. Preferred Experience and Certifications Include: Safety experience in a manufacturing environment - ASP or CSP Designation - OSHA Authorized 30 Hour Instructor - Strong knowledge of EPA (Propylene glycol ethyl ether acetate) & ADEQ Regulations (U.S. Federal and applicable State) - Six Sigma Certification - EMT Certification - Understanding of Workers’ Compensation and Return-to-Work Programs and electrical safety (including NEC, NFPA 70E, etc.)
    • Must be willing to obtain and retain a First Responder Certification.
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
