    Industrial Account Manager – Equipment & Services

    You will be accountable for sales of EL Business Area, Electrification in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, driving sales volumes and margins. In this role you will develop tactical and strategic customer plans to meet financial orders, sales, and margin goals for the Industrial Segment in the assigned geographical territory. In this role, the Business Development Manager will be responsible to grow the ABB EL Equipment & Services portfolios including switchgear solutions, engineering services solutions, aftermarket parts and ABB Ability Digital Solutions. The Business Development Manager will own identifying, developing, and closing orders, execute business objectives, and can affect short-term and some long-term business goals. To achieve these goals, the Business Development Manager will access the market by leveraging a combination of direct end customer engagement, Electrical Contractors, and Distribution Customers.

    Your responsibilities

    • Develop and execute sales strategies at assigned Industrial/end user customers and authorized channel partners that leverage ABB product strengths and local operational service solution capabilities
    • Meet or exceed assigned orders volume and margin measurements
    • Educate customer base about differentiated ABB products via technical presentations to create a preference for ABB
    • Identify and track upcoming sales opportunities and influence customer specifications to favor ABB
    • Develop an aftermarket go-to market strategy that enables accelerated growth of aftermarket product solutions
    • Maintain / Grow service volume at identified traditional ABB Service Solution accounts
    • Promote ABB’s digital solutions
    • Document customer installed base and leverage installed base knowledge in promoting solutions that improve customer reliability / meet customer financial objectives (total cost of ownership)
    • Negotiate contracts as required
    • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, customer trends, installed base and market levels of pricing for supported classes of products and service. Utilize that knowledge to collaborate with operations ensuring competitive product and services offerings
    • Maintain accurate and up to date records of all opportunities and disposition opportunities as they evolve in CRM system (Salesforce)

    Your background

    • High School Diploma / GED and minimum 10 years of experience in an industrial or utility sales role
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college preferred
    • Minimum 5 years of knowledge and experience selling products and services associated with the electrical power distribution industry
    • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a valid passport and driver's license
    • Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned Territory
    • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical industry and ABB products and services
    • Strong technical application, take-off, and proposal development skills
    • Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs
    • Strong coordination and influencing skills
    • Knowledge of customer financial drivers / needs
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, Integrative team working style
    • Self-starter, energetic and positive contributor to the team environment
    • Demonstrated success in developing a customer volume / trade area
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
