    The Industrial/Quality Engineer has the role of deploying and facilitating the quality culture in Motion Traction, ensuring and controlling quality to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations, and representing the customer’s voice within local teams, providing customer experience feedback and input. In this role, you will be deploying and supporting a Quality Culture within local ABB, by assuring and controlling Quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Supports and maintains the Quality Management System of the local unit. All aspects managed in line with ABB Group/Division/BU guidance

    Your responsibilities

    • Quality Assurance: Deploy and support a Quality Culture within local ABB, by assuring and controlling Quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Supports and maintains the Quality Management System of the local unit. All aspects managed in line with ABB Group/Division/BU guidance
    • Quality Control: Assist in the implementation of effective internal controls to verify that processes will meet customer and stakeholder requirements. Validate that control plans are applied and effective in mitigating known risks
    • Voice of the Customer: Represent the voice of the customer within local teams. Challenge the teams with customer experience feedback and input to decisions. Enable and coaches’ employees to evaluate risks, problems and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view
    • Product Quality: Utilize ABB Group aligned systems and tools to assist the Engineering function with Product data and analysis to validate that Products continue to meet operational and customer expectations throughout their lifecycle. Utilize APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) to assure effective introduction of new products
    • Quality Governance: Utilize the local Quality Management System to provide the local teams with procedures and documentation that sufficiently describe their work activities. Lead the local teams in the application of an operational approach and system of process management that is continually evaluated for effectiveness
    • Quality Compliance: Perform audits and use Quality data analytics from all parts of the operation to identify risks, failures and non-conformances within the local operations, its suppliers and customers. Assist in the application of appropriate corrective and preventive action and manages solutions to closure
    • People Leadership and Development: Provide quality training to local teams enabling them to define and document processes that are efficient and under control. Oversee, support, develop and/or lead various Continuous Improvement initiatives
    • Special Process Responsibility: IPC#620 Trainer, Lead internal Torque and Wire competency and audit programs for the Traction US business

    Your background

    • Bachelor degree in engineering with 2 years of related engineering experience required
    • Travel up to 10% required
    • Demonstrated ability with effective communication, project management as well as being a self-starter and team player required
    • Previous experience with industrial, process or quality engineering in a lean manufacturing setting highly preferred
    • Proficiency in MS Office required, SAP experience preferred
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
