    ABB's Distribution Solutions Division provides utility, industrial and commercial customers with safe, smart and sustainable technologies for the distribution of electricity. With ABB AbilityTM enabled digital solutions at its core, our extensive portfolio includes distribution automation products, switching, limiting, measuring and sensing devices, switchgear, modular substation packages, and related services. The role reports to the Operations Manager and is located in Tucson, Arizona. As a Inspector & Tester A 0CP, you will be responsible for servicing electric motors and related equipment in accordance with repair specifications.

    Your responsibilities

    • Disassembly, cleaning, repair, inspection, reassembly, and test electric motors
    • Complete inspection and test reports for electric motors
    • Familiar with the scope and limitations of the repair procedures for motors

    Your background

    • Trade School or high school diploma/GED and 5 years minimum experience in manufacturing or equipment service industry
    • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings or mechanical prints
    • Able to use calibrated equipment
    • Experience doing field and test work
    • Communication with customer personnel
    • Able to travel and complete overnight stays
    • Good Electrical and Mechanical skills a must
    • Must be able to acquire and hold required permits and certifications
    • Must be able to certify for solder and braze operations within time limits
    • This position will require travel and work on nuclear sites
    • Must be able to acquire and hold required permits and certifications
    • Communication with customer personnel. Including LOTO, Handoff reporting, final inspection
    • Self-starter able to work with minimal direct supervision
    • Switchgear experience a plus
    • Vibration and alignment analysis a plus
    • Winding experience a plus
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
