    IS Application Configurator

    In this role you will be responsible for applying IT (​Information Technology) knowledge and expertise to help solving complex technical or professional activities. You will be a key resource, a definitive source of knowledge about services and solutions, who contributes their expertise to enhance organizational efficiency and support the organization’s vision and strategic direction.

    Your responsibilities

    • Schedule pre defined jobs within Control-M/EM. Manage/maintain calendars within Control-M/EM
    • Manage batch workload in a Production Control environment for both mainframe and distributed/client server applications
    • Identify and fix common abends, alert support staff when problems develop, escalate issues to management when SLA's may be jeopardized, and document all issues in writing (via ServiceNow tickets: Incidents & Incident Tasks). Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills are required
    • Efficient use of system tools (that is, Time Sharing Option (TSO) / Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF), Job Control Language (JCL) and BMC's Control-M/Enterprise Manager
    • Availability to be on call during non business hours

    Your background

    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Or equivalent experience and minimum 8 plus years experience in an Enterprise environment. (Mainframe, I570, Sun, Intel and automated scheduling)
    • BMC Control-M for scheduling jobs with minimum 2 years is required
    • BMC Enterprise Manager for scheduling and managing jobs with minimum 2 years is required
    • AJF for both mainframe and client server application with minimum 2 years is required
    • Identifying abends and using JCL to fix: 2 years required
    • TSO(Time Sharing Option) / ISPF (Interactive System Productivity Facility): 2 years (Required)
    • Strong working knowledge of MIS (Management Information Systems​) Operating system and related subsystems (AS400, TSO (Transmission System Operators​), VPS, JES, CICS, TCPIP, TMON, Control-M, and Control-O)
    • Minimum 2 to 5 years is Desired for the following
    • Expert ability to analyze and manage batch workload on AJF for both mainframe and client server applications by using both BMC Control-M and EM tools respectively
    • Expert level in identifying and fixing common abends using JCL
    • Familiarity with batch job alert messages and shout messages coupled with the ability to determine severity, follow escalation procedures when SLA's (Service Level Agreement) may be jeopardized
    • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally to support staff when problems develop and communicate in writing a summation of a problem with pertinent details
    • Familiarity of system tools (that is, Nagios, IP Monitor, Tivoli, Time Sharing Option/Interactive System Productivity Facility (TSO/ISPF), Job Control Language (JCL) and BMC's Control-M/Enterprise Manager or similar job scheduling tools
    • Familiarity with ServiceNow Incidents and Tasks
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
