In this role, you will oversee Management Projects within the EL Business Area IS Global Business Services Electrification Business Area in Cary, North Carolina, providing clear guidelines, tasks and milestones, while motivating and providing feedback. The IS Project Manager sets a planning strategy that includes a full list of activities that are important for the management of project. Decides on project delivery methodology (waterfall, agile) and aligns with stakeholders. Defines the scope of the project and develops a project schedule accordingly. Ensure that all related activities are executed in accordance with company procedures, project objectives, applicable quality standards, safety requirements, cost, and scheduling targets.

Your responsibilities
- Project Plan & Build: Plan, schedule, coordinate, and deliver the IS project outcomes to time, scope, cost and agreed quality. Define, with key stakeholders, the scope of work, cost/budget, resources required, time schedule, and detailed work allocation. Coordinate and prioritize project tasks, manage timeline, maintain project plans, and communicate status to key stakeholders define, jointly with key stakeholders, all project documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule, and risk management plans. Effectively organizes, monitors, and controls activities to ensure achievement of planned stage-gates and efficient utilization of available resources
- Project Execution: Monitor and control project cost and financials. Identify, contain, and reduce risk, and ensure that all opportunities are captured and acted upon uses knowledge and experience to assess what lies ahead at the initial stages of the project, assessing what information they have and don’t have, the risks and issues that may arise during the project and to decide on the best way to proceed

- Effectively monitor and control project progress, proactive manage and mitigate project risks
- Monitor and control project financials, oversee project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow
- Ensure that the project applies contract and claims management in accordance with contractual agreements (interface with Procurement Department)
- Ensures the successful close down of the project-on-project completion and the capture and documentation of lessons learned
- Execute IS project communication, report IS project performance against plan and expected business outcome
- Ensure successful delivery of the IS project and closely collaborate with Business PM on overall project success Conduct IS Project assessments and gate passing assessments in the domain of expertise

- Strategy: Keep up to date and informed about any change in strategy, and is consulted regarding any incident or other project which has, or might have, a major impact on the project
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the key contact for the project stakeholders, and an escalation point for project issues
- Effectively communicates appropriate information to stakeholders promptly and to achieve desired understanding and support manage stakeholders' expectations and relationships
- Prepare and drive project and budget approval with multiple stakeholders
- Governance, IS Compliance: Define project governance: Steco, opco, reference team ensure project follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with standard ABB internal directives and procedures. Ensure appropriate ABB IS Project Management standards and methods are followed
- Execute, for assigned tasks, all actions in IS processes according to agreed RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) specification is responsible to act in compliance with Corporate IS Regulation and IS Policies, with ABB Regulations and ABB Guidelines of which accountability and responsibility for this position are derived, and with any other Internal Control regulations that may be assigned
- People Leadership: Lead the project team allocated to the project, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and/or external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones. Coach and provide guidance to the team and provides feedback regarding those individuals allocated to work on projects
Your background
- University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or similar or PMP Certification with 5 years experience in project management, ideally in Information Systems/Real Estate
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, with strong customer service mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong time management skills and flexibility necessary to handle periodic bursts of increased workload
- Good communication and collaboration skills in a multi cultural global environment
- Sense of ownership for the assigned project
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Excellent analytical skills, data analysis for requirements of the project work & deliverables
- Fluent in English (written and spoken). Spanish and French an asset
- Availability to travel
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
