In this position, you will act as a Business Partner to the Motion France Business, developing close working relationships with ABB’s internal customers, including commercial business teams, finance, HR, EHS and supply chain functions.

Your responsibilities
- Developing contract strategy based on customer requirements, ABB’s policies, and the overall execution strategy considering risk, pricing, scope, and schedule.
- Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with customers and suppliers for the Motion Business as well as framing agreements on a global level or between multiple Business Areas.
- Collaborating with other Legal Counsels in the development of contract standards, templates and guidelines and ensuring their implementation and operationalization within France.
- Providing training and guidance to the Motion Business.
- Developing and implementing risk mitigation and opportunity plans together with the local Project Manager and/or Sales Manager.
- Ensuring that relevant (sub) contracts contain appropriate contract terms to protect ABB’s interest, including flow-down of main contract terms.
- Supporting in managing contractual claims and advising on the resolution of disputes or litigation through external advisors when necessary.
- Supporting our business with all other general legal advice and questions related to integrity, including providing general guidance and management of legal issues in respect of Competition laws, Labor laws and GDPR.
Your background
- Holder of Law degree LLM (France).
- At least 3 years of post qualification experience practicing commercial law, either as a private practice associate or as an in-house legal counsel.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills as well as ability to work in a complex international environment.
- Fluency in English and French with strong communication, presentation and networking skills is a must.
- Flexible and adaptable in a changing and challenging environment; able to think ‘out of the box’ when unexpected/unplanned events arise.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Well-organized to manage multiple assignments simultaneously under deadline pressure.
- Strong awareness of Health, Safety and Security rules: HSE is everyone's business.
