The role reports to the Manager Manufacturing Engineering and is located in Flowery, Georgia. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for providing maintenance support to manufacturing facility as required to produce a quality product in the most efficient manner while maintaining the safest working conditions possible for all employees.

    Your responsibilities

    • Repair most mechanical failures with minimum guidance
    • Install or relocate equipment using layouts, drawings, etc
    • Troubleshoot single and three phase electrical systems
    • Install all types of plumbing, air lines, water lines and conduit
    • Use all tools and equipment in the maintenance department
    • Read blueprints and interpret mechanical drawings
    • Use electrical measuring instruments used by maintenance, VOM meters, scopes, etc
    • Trouble shoot electrical problems involving conventional relay logic
    • Effectively isolate problems related to automated controllers
    • Troubleshoot and repair complicated hydraulic systems
    • Design and build basic electrical and mechanical systems
    • Troubleshoot and repair CNC equipment
    • Able to solve machine problems using vendors and service representatives
    • Oversee projects involving outside contractors

    Your background

    • Associates degree or documented successful completion of a federally-approved apprenticeship or equivalent. Those who meet all other requirements with demonstrated experience in the field will be considered
    • 3 to 5 years of experience in required
    • Demonstrate the knowledge use of shop maintenance, prints and precision measuring devices
    • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics in manufacturing and mechanical applications
    • Ability to troubleshoot electrical/mechanical equipment failures
    • Address and function with basic computer skills used by maintenance; CMMS, Word, Excel
    • Pass a company assessment/test covering plant maintenance functions
    • Follow lock out/tag out and other safety procedures
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
