    Market Development Manager

    An opportunity is available for new role as a Market Development Manager within ABB’s Measurement and Analytics Business. The role will be home-based covering all of the UK & Ireland and reporting to the Industrial Sales Manager with a functional report into the Process Gas Analytics Sales Manager. This position will see the candidate focus on dealing with, but not exclusively: •EPCs •Contractors •Consultants

    Your responsibilities

    • Opening emerging and investigating into new markets to ensure long term growth and order income for ABB Measurement and Analytics
    • Positioning and promotion of ABB’s Measurement and Analytical Products and Services into emerging industrial markets within the UK & Ireland
    • While providing continued focus on traditional markets.
    • Identification of new future market opportunities.
    • Promotion of product portfolios including Instrumentation, Analytical and Force Measurement and associated Digital Services
    • Main account focus will be on EPCs, Contractors and Consultants for the aforementioned markets
    • Act as the lead for UK Cluster initiatives
    • Act as the lead for key UK project pursuits within the aforementioned markets
    • Contributing towards the development and regularly updating of the sales strategy for target the targeted markets
    • Proactively develop relationships with clients, ensuring regular face to face contact through meetings, TEAMS call, visits to ABB premises and presentations
    • Collaborate with other ABB colleagues & Businesses to maximise selling potential in target markets
    • Personal responsibility to always follow ABB code of conduct; act with Integrity and ensure Health and Safety is never compromised
    • Proactive engagement and use of ABB’s CRM tool (Sales Force) on a regular basis

    Your background

    • Degree/HND/HNC. Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic or Chemical Engineering
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Good IT skills, particularly MS Office
    • Driving license
    • Sales experience, preferably negotiating & managing large value orders
    • Homes based, comfortable with spending 2/3 nights per week away from home
    • Ability to use a CRM system such as Salesforce
    • Sales experience gained within a technical or preferable Instrumentation-Desirable
    • environment, within in the Process, Food & Bev or Chemical industry-Desirable
    • Previous experience as a Business Development Manager-Desirable
    • Competent with a conceptual selling process-Desirable
    • Inquisitive and resilient
    • Self-motivated and driven to achieve targets
    • Ability to prioritise own work and meet deadlines
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills i.e., a team player
    • Good interpersonal skills, confident & can gain the trust of clients
    • Good questioning and listening skills
    • Awareness of the commercial impact of technical decisions
    • Experience of dealing with varying levels of authority within clients
