    Motor and Generator Specialist

    As a Specialist, you will execute service work with low to medium complexity according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will be in close cooperation with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point while delivering quality and satisfying customer service. In this role you will be responsible for providing routine maintenance and on site or remote technical support.

    Your responsibilities

    • Develop M&G and switchgear repair volume and communicate with existing and new customer base
    • Drive EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety​), productivity, cost reduction and quality initiatives with hourly workforce to meet / exceed customer CT's
    • Provide technical interface between customer, sales force and in shop craft labor
    • Generate production data for quoting various repair work scopes as they apply to M&G and switchgear segments
    • Be responsible for the business health of the M&G and switchgear segments including increasing shop quality and process control implementation
    • Increase shop volume through customer site visits, networking and upgrade opportunities
    • Infuse new technology, leverage LEAN, Six Sigma to drive productivity, quality and safety
    • Develop junior craft and execute continued technical training for craft
    • Perform other collateral duties as assigned to meet business needs as they relate to EHS and Quality

    Your background

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the industrial services market providing technical guidance, instruction and sales support in M&G and switchgear disciplines)
    • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in repair services business preferred
    • Demonstrated process improvement. Responsibility for P&L of a business segment
    • Extensive knowledge of M&G and switchgear operation / construction and testing
    • Excellent technical communication skills and demonstrated effectiveness
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
