    Product Application Specialist (Mobile Solutions Truck)

    With a focus on our Premier Industrial Product portfolio, this role will increase market share and sales by working with the sales team to reach and engage end-users. As a Product Application Specialist (Mobile Solutions Truck), you will become the trusted expert in your market and create demand through product application training, problem solving, and solution-oriented sales.  The Product Application Specialist (Mobile Solutions Truck) will work from a mobile office actively pursuing end-users to gain preference and commitments. Utilizing their superior product knowledge and industry expertise they will be instrumental in helping the business achieve its goals by creating demand.

    Your responsibilities

    • Be the product expert in our Premier Industrial line of products
    • Be an industry expert. Knowledgeable in common products and applications found in the electrical industry
    • Proactively engage the sales team in the assigned region to schedule, qualify, and train end-user customers on our Premier Industrial Portfolio of products
    • Pursue end-users, engineers, OEMs, and other industry decision makers by driving the ABB Premier Industrial products Mobile Solutions Truck throughout the Midwest/Gulf regions for on-site demonstrations, to be on the road 80%+ of the year
    • Be a trainer/teacher/demonstrator. Be proficient in delivering in-person presentations and demonstrations effectively communicating the value of our products and teams expressing why our solution is the best solution. We win on value and solution, not on price
    • Train our sales teams, both direct and agent, as needed to bolster the overall capabilities of our team
    • Understand our competitors’ offerings weaknesses and strengths. Know how to speak to each of these elevating our products features, benefits, and abilities above the competitions’
    • Grow our presence with existing customers and markets while advancing our presence at new customers and in new markets as they are identified
    • Generate leads and opportunities and, utilizing Salesforce, communicate with our sales and operations teams to ensure follow-through and closure
    • Interface with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Product Engineering, and the Research and Development teams to develop new product opportunities
    • Provide technical representation for the business in national, regional, and local industry tradeshows and industry events
    • Provide competitive intelligence reporting on competitive product offerings and market position
    • Coordinate and manage travel activities within the region of responsibility

    Your background

    • Require associates degree, technical college, trade/technical training, and/or certifications with minimum of 5 years experience in a technical support role in the Electrical Industry
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience preferred
    • Preferred experience in planning, preparing and delivering education or training sessions and materials.
    • Preferred experience with relevant codes & standards, e.g., NEC (National Electrical Code - USA​), NEMA, ANSI (American National Standards Institute), IEEE(The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) etc
    • Experience in delivering technical information and presentations
    • Demonstrates strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
    • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications
    • Technically competent with commercial acumen
    • Ability to drive a medium-duty truck, clean driving history, no CDL required
    • Ability to travel 80% plus
    • Must live near a major Metropolitan area of the Central United States
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
