    You will be part of Marine and Ports in Västerås. ABB’s business for ports assists shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, quick and cost-efficient way. Ports is specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes. We are the leading supplier of crane systems and are active worldwide. In the large terminal automation projects we deliver electric and automation systems for 50 to 100 cranes, to the major container ports in the world. ABB Ports main products are automation solutions for ship to shore cranes and automatic stacking cranes. This position is product manager for automatic stacking cranes, which is the largest volumes of our automation deliveries. This role reports to Technology Manager. Your will be responsible for ABB Ports technical solutions for automatic stacking cranes. You will ensure our standard technical solution is maintained, documented, updated and developed according to plan. In close cooperation with sales and engineering you will ensure the correct technical solution and options are offered in our customer projects. You will cooperate with our customer around the world to understand their needs and explain how ABB Ports solutions can solve their problems. Therefore, some travels will be required, but not extended traveling. For some development cross your product you will be responsible for technical lead in R&D projects. Daily you will interact with our product owners, product manager ship to shore cranes, R&D engineers and line managers in Technology to drive your projects and understand status of all on-going development.

    Your responsibilities

    • Manage automatic stacking cranes product offering.
    • Define standard solutions and options including safety standard.
    • Maintain and drive roadmap for your product.
    • Technical lead for some R&D projects that goes cross your product.
    • Develop and maintain good relationship with our key customers.
    • Ensure your product solutions are sustainable and meets our customer expectation on circularity, energy efficiency and reduction of CO2 emissions in our complete supply chain, and your product is properly maintained and communicated from a life cycle perspective, for new projects and after market needs.
    • Initiate processes to start R&D activities to meet technical needs in customer projects based on bids.
    • Together with Sales and Engineering, with support from Technology ensure correct solutions is used in customer bid projects.

    Your background

    • Experience from product management is valuable.
    • Experience from technical lead is valuable.
    • Experience from team lead is valuable.
    • Experience in SW development within automation area (PLC, embedded).
    • Experience from customer projects organization is beneficial.
    • Understanding of functional safety.
    • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant field together with some years of working experience.
    • Since you will work in a global company, you need to master English in both speech and writing, Swedish language skills are meriting.
