    Production Development Specialist (m/f/d)

    As a Production Development Specialist, you will drive improvements in production of conductors within Electrification – Smart Power Division in Heidelberg, Germany and assigned extended workbenches in low-cost countries. Therefore travelling – also abroad – is required. You will optimize the production organization’s assembly methods, processes and equipment in order to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs and safety. Reporting to the Production Manager, your focus will be on optimizing the manufacturing process through innovation in a cost-effective way.

    Your responsibilities

    • Defining the sequence of the production process in line with material and investment budgets
    • Ensuring optimal efficiency in production methods, equipment performance and materials/components
    • Identifying and implementing improvements to the manufacturing process in line with cost, safety and timing requirements
    • Investigating new methods, technologies and changes in equipment and process design to meet specifications
    • Defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources and personnel to ensure smooth implementation of new processes and a skilled, competent team
    • Consulting and working with production operators and supervisors to implement changes on the production line
    • Executing continuous improvement, standardize processes and develop best practices
    • Working in cross-functional teams to execute the continuous improvement strategy

    Your background

    • Min. 3 years of work experience in a related function with technical background; experience in production environment or production engineering department or in a position related to production improvement
    • Demonstrated experience working on a production line. (Supervisory experience is an advantage.)
    • Good knowledge of process analysis and process improvement with lean production tools (VSM, SMED, problem solving); good knowledge of data analysis and statistic with related software (Minitab, MS Power BI)
    • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma
    • A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines
    • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
    • A degree in Engineering (Production Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
    • Fluency in German and English
    • Willingness to travel
