Production Supervisor

As a Production Supervisor, you will be leading the Line Leaders and their teams within the production unit in the execution of production processes to transform parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely, cost-effective manner. Ensuring continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, quality, and safety standards & policies in Electrification Business Area. You will be reporting to the IPU Leader and this position is based in Napier, New Zealand.
Your responsibilities
- Organizing and allocating resources to meet line production targets effectively and efficiently
- responding to resource issues as necessary
- Identifying and recommending technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary and ensuring execution of volume, conforming product, and on-time delivery targets for the assigned production lines
- Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposes improvement activities, and oversees implementation of actions to improve production performance
- Managing the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams
- Ensuring compliance with Group health, safety and environmental directives and that regulations are implemented, while monitoring and reporting progress and results
- Ensuring the products meet the relevant ABB Quality standards and necessary corrective and preventive steps are taken in case of non-conformances generated from both internal and external sources
- Ensuring (with HR support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates, and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies
Your background
- Electrical and Mechanical product / system assembly knowledge
- Minimum two years experience as production supervisor
- History of team leadership within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma will be a huge advantage
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
- Experience in SAP or similar MRP system and excellent communication skills
