You will be working as Project Engineer-Automation Metals and will be part of Process Automation business for Process Industries division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Senior Engineering Manager and will be responsible for developing and delivering project scope for process industry customers. You will be ensuring the project deliverables are met in terms of application quality performance & budget, while working with a team of automation project engineers.

Your responsibilities

• Being a part of complete project comprising of scope of Automation and Drives system for Metals sector
• Carrying out independently activities of basic and detailed engineering of automation systems including hardware and application programming
• Responsible for technical deliveries in engineering, testing & commissioning of the systems
• Will be part of Industry 4.0 digital transformation projects for Steel industry customers
• Being responsible for executing and delivering Automation projects for Metals sector across the globe
• Actively participating project meetings and resolves any outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations

Your background

• Minimum B.Tech/ B.E/ Diploma from a reputed University with First Class in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics engineering
• 5-6 years of relevant work experience in automation systems, application programming & independently handling areas of projects end-to-end
• Should have through knowledge in Industrial Automation systems, drives & motors, having experience in handling automation projects comprising of engineering & commissioning for Steel industry specifically on secondary side of steel production- Hot and cold mills. Should have experience in application programming for Metals process
• Should have process knowledge in area of experience. Should have fair knowledge of design/dimensioning of process performance motors & industrial drives as per application needs. Should have thorough process knowledge and field experience in installation & commissioning of automation systems for processes like cold rolling mills/hot strip mills/wire rod & bar mills/primary metals/tube mills etc.
• Should be conversant with LVAC drives & experience in drives product commissioning will be desirable. Should have basic knowledge of electrical systems like transformers, low voltage switchgears, motor control centers & soft starters. Should have experience of handling site activities from front. Should be ready for extensive travelling across the globe. Should have experience in supporting technical sales activities pertaining to Automation
• Knowledge of DCS/ PLC HW/SW components, IT/ Network/ Peripherals like UPS, Printer, PC’s, Server components of DCS
• Knowledge in application programming & HMI development/ modifications for PLC/ DCS systems, different communication protocols used between PLC & Drives or in automation
• Knowledge of below ABB systems is added advantage -ABB automation systems like 800xA, Advant, Compact HMI etc., ABB ACS880 multi drive, standalone drives, ABB ACS800 multi drive, standalone drives, ABB DCS800 LVDC drives
