    Project Engineer (f/m/d)

    Working as a Project Engineer, you will plan and execute the engineering and commissioning activities in the ABB office and on the project site for various DCS and HMI projects in ABB Power Generation Water and H2 business in Germany. In this role, you will make technical recommendations in various phases of customer projects to ensure successful delivery of project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with quality and safety guidelines.

    Your responsibilities

    • Executing Hardware and Software Engineering using ABB tools and products
    • Coordinating, preparing and ensuring that all materials, parts and equipment are available and of appropriate quality
    • Creating functional design specifications and programming of software applications
    • Designing hardware for the implementation of automation and communication systems
    • Performing factory acceptance tests (FAT)
    • Supervising sub-suppliers during installation and commissioning phase
    • Carrying out commissioning works: field and function commissioning
    • Creating technical documentation in accordance with ABB and end customer requirements
    • Assisting project managers and project lead engineers in technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors and vendors
    • Assisting contract managers with claims, customer specifications and safety standards
    • Taking care of closing open points in preparation of handover to client
    • Ensuring that Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices are of high standard, and working to eliminate unsafe practices and incidents
    • Helping customers resolve technical issues both remotely and at customer sites in Germany and elsewhere abroad
    • Maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project

    Your background

    • At least 5 years of experience in Automation, working as Project Engineer or Commissioning Engineer
    • Several years of professional experience in wastewater treatment plants, locks and waterworks or industrial automation of energy and/or chemical plants
    • Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools, including 800xA, Zenon, AC800M, AC500
    • Safe handling of VMware, network technology and servers
    • A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines
    • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies
    • Willingness to travel domestic and abroad
    • A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills
    • Studies or technician in electrical engineering automation or a similar field
    • Fluent written and spoken German and good English skills
