Project Engineer -Process Power Manager

This is a Project Engineer -Process Power Manager role, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager in Business Area - India Operations Centre, Process Automation (INOPC PA) based in Bangalore, India. You will be primarily responsible to design authority for Electrical power Management system with low to medium complexity. Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects, cost effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
Your responsibilities
- Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments. Handling testing, installation, and commissioning activities. Preparing project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables
- Assisting in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.)
- Supporting the Contract Manager in change management (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications etc.)
- Creating work plans and costing estimates in one’s area of responsibility
- Completing Power Management System related risk and opportunity assessments and ensuring implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility
- Assisting customers on technical issues, interacting with official contacts, contracting and other staff within his/her scope of deliverables
- Collaborating with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed on with potential suppliers
- Maintaining network of engineering professionals and sharing engineering best practice across different projects and disciplines
Your background
- 4 years bachelor graduate degree, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Engineering and commissioning of Power management system covering the functionalities of Primary equipment monitoring and control, Load shedding, Load sharing, Synchronization etc.
- Hands on Experience in designing substation network architecture of control systems
- Hands on Experience in control philosophy for process / power plants
- Hands on Experience in Software, Hardware design and test experience with any of DCS
- Working Knowledge on Utility Communication Protocols like IEC61850, OPC, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 101,104, TCP/IP, Prefab’s, Profinet, Fieldbus, SPA
- Hands-on experience in Application Engineering tool with any of the DCS
- Hands-on experience in Graphic Engineering tool with any of the DCS
- Hands-on Experience in developing HMI graphics/logics related to Primary equipment monitoring and control, Load shedding, Load sharing, PQ Controls, Synchronization etc
- Hands –on Experience in configuration of Controllers, Protocol Gateways, Data Concentrators on various communication protocols
- Hands on Experience in working with various manufacturer IED’s on IEC 61850 Protocol in creating *.IEC, ICD, CID, SCD Files
- Hands on Experience in producing documents ranging from Pre to Detailed Engineering, System Testing (FAT & IFAT) for above mentioned systems
- Current knowledge of network engineering and IT developments (PC handling, Windows applications, PC configurations, virus scanners, interfaces, backup)
- Hands on experience on multi-vendor IED Engineering and commissioning in electrical protection relay applications
- May work under direct supervision or independently
