Project Lead Engineer -Electrics

This is a Project Lead Engineer -Electrics role, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager in Business Area - India Operations Centre, Process Automation (INOPC PA) based in Bangalore, India. You will be primarily responsible for all engineering activities in assignments classified as low engineering complexity. Ensure that activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
Your responsibilities
- Understanding engineering scope for projects from RFPs, tender documents
- Undertaking basic electrical engineering for the projects pertaining to Mining, Cement, Metals & Pulp & Paper-such as preparation of single line diagram, protection and metering philosophy, load list segre-gation, design basis
- Undertaking equipment engineering activities, such as equipment sizing calculations, specifications for electrical items, review supplier offers, review and approve supplier drawings and documents
- Planting tray layout engineering for electrical scope based on the 2D-3D layout drawings furnished by customer/OEM. Estimating of cable lengths, trays & all other erection accessories
- Collaborating with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to subcontractors along with preparation of equipment specification and review of offers
- Identifying the areas of improvement, bring state-of-art technology, optimize, and implement them wherever possible, incorporate lessons learnt from past projects
- Supporting for bid & proposal activities for electrical scope of supply in process industries
- Technical bid analysis, vendor document review
- Estimating of bulk quantities and capital cost estimation for electrical scope
- Identifying potential risks in the bids, quotations, and estimates, and in any related contract agree-ments across customers/channels/suppliers
- Formulating competitive bids/estimates/quotations, considering best available product mix and ap-propriate technical and commercial considerations for electrical package of bids
- Performing Load flow, short circuit studies, relay co-ordination and transient analysis etc., using ETAP
- Interdisciplinary review / coordination with other disciplines for electrical scope
Your background
- Minimum B.Tech/ B.E/ Diploma from a reputed University with First Class in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics engineering
- 10-12 years of relevant work experience in electric projects pertaining to Mining, Cement, Metals & Pulp & Paper
- Experience in project engineering with consulting companies or with engineering departments of EPC companies
- Experience on large electrification projects in mining and material handling industry will be advantage
- Electrical Power Distribution System for large process plants (MV Switchgear, LT Switchgear, Intelligent MCCs, Bus Trunking)
- Outdoor and Indoor Substation Design
- Design of containerized Substations and Control Rooms i.e., Prefabricated Substations/ E Houses
- Good knowledge on E-House – including construction design, Layout
- Plant engineering i.e., Cable and tray engineering concepts along with lighting, lightning, and earthing design. For Normal substation as well as Prefabricated/Ehouse substations
- Gas Insulated Substation design
- Motor & Drive Selection for various applications
- Emergency Power Distribution system (DG Set, AMF Panel and Auto C/O system)
- Power system Analysis with ETAP software (Short circuit studies, Load Flow Analysis, Motor Starting Analysis, Relay coordination)
- Power System Protection (Relay Selection, Coordination and relay setting calculation)
- Installation Engineering including earthing, equipment, cable tray layouts
- Knowledge on IEDs, relay programming, troubleshooting
- Substation Scada with IEC 61850 communication knowledge, IED devices configuration
- Knowledge on 800XA is added attribute
- Working knowledge on AutoCAD
- Working knowledge on ETAP/ Mi POWER/ NEPLAN
- Knowledge about Autodesk Inventor is an added attribute
