    Project Manager

    In this role, you will oversee medium to large size projects within the Consumer Segments and Service Robotics & Discrete Automation in Alpharetta, Georgia, providing clear guidelines, tasks and milestones, while motivating and providing feedback. While leading the execution of medium to large size projects you will ensure that all related activities are per-formed in accordance with ABB policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments.

    Your responsibilities

    • Project leadership: Lead the project team allocated to the project, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones. Provide performance feedback regarding allocated resources working on projects
    • Planning and scheduling: Define, jointly with the Project Controls department, all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans
    • Project execution and control: Ensure that the project follows execution best practices and ABB policies. Effectively monitors and controls project progress and efficient resource utilization. Monitor and controls project financials, overseeing project in-voicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow. Identify, qualify, quantify and manage project risks, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued. Capture, analyze and share lessons learned throughout the project. Ensure that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Drive the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer
    • Contract, claims and procurement management: Ensure that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements. Coordinate with Supply Chain Management, and successfully procure required services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers. Support Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims and project changes
    • Stakeholder relations: Act as key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders
    • Health, safety and environment (HSE): Ensure the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies

    Your background

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial/Systems/Robotics engineering or a similar field. Master’s degree and Lean/Six sigma preferred. PMP (PMI) is preferred with 5 years of hands-on experience in Project Management including site management in industrial projects in Logistics, Power generation, Oil and Gas, Automotive, healthcare, or similar industries. Experience with US government projects a plus
    • Experience in executing robotics centric application projects from concept development through execution and handover. Experience in modernization or retrofit projects a plus
    • Demonstrated experience in program management and scale deployment of technology-based production units spanned over multiple sites concurrently
    • Good knowledge of Controls/Electrical/instrumentation design, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers)/HMI (Human Machine Interface​)/PC (Personal Computer)/Robot programming & safety, Simulation, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), startup and commissioning of Greenfield and Brownfield projects is a plus
    • Good knowledge of mechanical design and standards for logistic and warehouse applications – including but not limited to Picking, Packing, and de/palletizing is a plus
    • Experience with MS Project or Primavera, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems/SAP. Good knowledge of MS products. Travel 30% Domestic and international
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
