Project Manager – Product Engineering

ABB is market leader in fast charging solutions which enable 10-30 min charging time for electric cars and busses, a game changing technology which allows mass adaption of clean transportation. In this highly technological and rising market, we are developing and supplying these Electrical Vehicle Charger Infrastructure across the globe. Based in our current location in San Giovanni Valdarno (AR) we are looking for a Team Manager for the Product Engineering local team.

Your responsibilities

• Be part of the E-mobility center in San Giovanni Valdarno, responsible for development, engineering and manufacturing of high power EV chargers.
• Manage the execution of one or more Engineering projects to meet project targets, with responsibility of all elements of the project/s. Coordinate and motivate a cross-functional team, that could be mainly local or also global, with internal and external resources.
• Ensure the achievement of all tasks and milestones, transferring the project results to relevant line organization and capturing the lessons learned.
• Ensure that the project follows sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with standard ABB Product Group internal directives and procedures. Manage uncertainties, risks and change requests, defining the proper mitigation actions.
• Serve as the key contact for the project stakeholders, communicating effectively and in a transparent way the appropriate information to stakeholders, in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding and support.
• Use own technical domain knowledge to provide technical support to the team.
• Ensure guidance to a team with diverse competences (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Embedded SW) and seniority in order to enable high efficiency execution in very short to medium and long term activities.
• Collaborate with multiple supporting teams as needed to deliver solutions, ensuring the team's compliance with ABB standard processes, procedures, practices and safety requirements.
• Oversee work progress, identify and manage technical issues and drive the team performance to ensure timely delivery and high safety and quality standards.

Your background

• Master degree in Automation, Electronics or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in industrial environment. Previous experience in Pj management in similar environment and coordination of people/tasks are a plus, such as knowledge of Agile Principle and tools (Jira, …). Proven ability to meet deadlines and get results with many priorities.
• Good knowledge of electromechanical and electronic low voltage devices can facilitate the onboarding.
• Good structured approach to problem solving, balancing theoretical/numerical and experimental approaches.
• Good communication skills to handle different perspectives or different stakeholders and achieve buy-in.
• Good level of English and Italian, both written and spoken. Ability to work in global context, collaborating effectively with different culture and mindset.
• Proactivity, teamwork skills, problem solving and result orientation. Good leadership skills, to guide people and to create engagement in the team, sense of urgency. A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and good written and spoken communication skills.
