    Quality Engineer

    The Quality Specialist has the role of deploying and facilitating the quality culture in Instrument Transformers & Sensors (ITS), Electrification Distribution Solutions (ELDS), ensuring and controlling quality to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations and representing the customer’s voice within local teams, providing customer experience feedback and input. You will be responsible to provide assistance with and maintain the quality management system, managing all aspects in line with guidance from ABB Group/division/business area.

    Your responsibilities

    • Assisting in implementing internal controls to verify that processes meet requirements and making sure that control plans are applied and effective in mitigating risks
    • Enabling and coaching employees to evaluate risks, problems and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view
    • Utilizing systems and tools to assist the Engineering function with product data and evaluations to ensure that products meet expectations throughout their lifecycle
    • Conducting CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis​) utilizing various tools such as A3, 8D, 5Why, DMAIC, Fishbone, etc
    • Helping local teams apply an operational approach and process management system that are continually evaluated for effectiveness
    • Performing audits and using analytics to identify risks, failures and non-conformances, and assisting in applying corrective and preventive action
    • Providing quality training to local teams, enabling them to define and document processes that are efficient and under control

    Your background

    • A bachelor’s degree with a major in a technical field such as engineering or science is preferred and minimum 3 years of experience in a quality role within a customer facing or a manufacturing environment
    • Sound knowledge of Problem solving, FMEA, Control Plans, APQP, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
    • Knowledge of SAP, Windchill, or Document Control systems are a plus
    • A collaborative, solution focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
    • Proficient at Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Familiar with Minitab or Power BI is preferred
    • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, CQE or CQA are a plus
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
