Join us as Quality Manager based in our medium voltage manufacturing facility and you will be responsible to continue driving a quality culture by assuring and controlling quality with systems, tools, and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. In your role you will develop and maintain the Quality Management System across our factory that offers the latest in Medium Voltage technology.This is captured in a locally designed and manufactured switchgear product that is successful in local and export markets. Reporting to Local Product Group Manager and this position will be based in Henderson, New Zealand
Your responsibilities
- Working with local management teams to prevent mistakes and defects in products and avoid problems when delivering solutions or services to customers and provide confidence that ABB and customer quality requirements will be fulfilled
- Ensuring effective internal controls are in place to verify that processes continue to meet customer and stakeholder requirements. Validating that control plans are applied and effective in mitigating known risks
- Managing the voice of the customer is represented within the local business and challenge the management team with customer experience feedback and input to decisions.
- Deploying and maintaining the local quality management system to provide the local business with policies, regulations and processes that sufficiently describe the value chain activities
- Leading the local management team in the application of an operational approach and system of process management that is continually evaluated for effectiveness
- Performing audits and ensuring the use of analytics of quality data from all parts of the operation to identify risks, failures and non-conformances within the local business, its suppliers and customers and maintain organization’s ISO9001 certification
- Assisting local Quality team is sustainably staffed, developed and directed in line with ABB Group QO guidance to provide support and leadership for the Quality activities that support the local business
Your background
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with focus on production line / complex assembly rather than background of high volume/standard/automated manufacturing.
- Ability to discuss and engage with a range of people internally and with customers.
- Mechanical aptitude and medium/high voltage electrical understanding and systems thinking / approach.
- Previous quality management and auditing experience
- Procedure documentation and logical approach to investigation of failures / Lean 6 Sigma
