As a Quality Specialist, you will deploy, support and foster a Quality culture across the Division of Process Industries based in Baden-Dättwil, Switzerland, by assuring and controlling Quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Supports and maintains the Quality Management System in line with ABB Group/Division guidance. Reporting to the Quality and Continuous Improvement Team Leader, you will develop and maintain the quality management system, implement internal controls to verify that processes meet requirements, make sure that control plans are applied and effective in mitigating risks. And share your knowledge within the organization.
Your responsibilities
- Drafting, interpreting, and implementing quality assurance standards and procedures for the organization
- Ensuring that the design activities that influence the quality of the products or services are sufficiently defined and controlled through regular auditing and testing
- Performing audits and using Quality data analytics from all parts of the operation to identify risks, failures and non-conformances within the local operations, its suppliers, and customers
- Driving the application of appropriate corrective and preventive actions and managing solutions to closure
- Working in cross-functional teams to execute the strategy and escalate as necessary to remove roadblocks
- Assisting the Engineering functions and R&D with Product data and analysis to ensure effective introduction of new products then validate that Products continue to meet operational and customer expectations throughout their lifecycle
- Enabling, training and coaching employees to evaluate risks, problems, and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view
- Analyzing complex quality issues and leading the process of solving these problems, making sure that the action plan is in place and perform the follow-up
- Measuring the costs of non-quality, identifying the quality issues, and making the necessary corrections in collaboration with the operations, to reduce the costs of non-quality
Your background
- Experience in several of the following areas: Developing and maintaining Quality management system in an industrial environment, Continuous Improvement, Lean Six Sigma, Process Design, Lean Production, Manufacturing & Quality, Change Management, Audit, Statistical Analysis
- Experience in coordinating quality assurance and quality control activities to achieve quality business targets
- Passion for visualization of quality dashboards, quality data and metrics
- Experience using 8D/Problem solving methodologies combined with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (ERP systems are an asset)
- High customer and solution orientation, paired with a communicative personality and coaching skills motivating in driving change
- Hands-on and problem-solving mentality to challenge “status quo”
- A degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering
- Fluency in English
