R&D Engineer

You will be working as R&D Engineer and will be part of Electrification business for Smart Power division based in Hyderabad, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Team Lead and will be responsible for working on business priority projects of defined scope, apply concepts to issues of moderate to high complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Performing assigned tasks including definition, approach, analysis, review, and implementation on schedule and within budget.

Your responsibilities

• Making technical decisions by applications of specialized knowledge / skills, leverage prior work where appropriate
• Recommending technical approach, required resources, and schedule interfaces with other engineering departments, test laboratories, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, research, and suppliers as required
• Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to assure requirements are met and build strong relationships
• Communicating status and problems to project leaders and management
• Leading documentation of technical design details and test results. Participating in program reviews, and prepare invention disclosures where appropriate
• Providing guidance and instructions to technicians while carrying out test activities

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in R&D of industrial products involving electromechanical designs preferably LV Circuit Breakers and Switchgear
• Experience in product design and development, validation, quality, value engineering, costing
• Proficient in CAD Tools like Creo, Pro/ENGINEER and expertise on simulation tools like ANSYS etc
• Exposure to electrical distribution and control products like ACB, MCCB, MCB, Contactors, and Switches is desirable
• Good awareness of regulatory standards and test requirements
